Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has chosen a finance director for his prospective presidential campaign, two sources close to DeSantis said on Thursday.

Lauren Lofstrom, who served as finance director for Texas Senator Ted Cruz during his 2016 presidential campaign, is joining DeSantis' political operation and has begun meeting with the governor's allies to discuss fundraising strategies, said the sources who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Others who have joined DeSantis' political operation include Jason Johnson, who served as Cruz's chief strategist in 2016, the sources said.

I predict some real screwery when Desantis declares and has to step down. Geez could he just serve his term, kick ass in Florida for two more years and then run for POTUS afterward?

Such overlap between these odious DeSantian’s and the Slava Ukraine crowd. Almost as if they serve the same regime masters.

The deep state, never trump and neocon crowd will be puring millions into DeSantis’ campaign.

The finance guy is going to be busy.

Maybe they all had a friend or family member die from the Trump warp-speed vaccines?

desantis seems to be hiring former cruz campaign honchos wholesale ... that’s a REALLY, REALLY bad sign as to what kind of politician desantis might really be ... cruz campaign ran a totally nasty, corrupt, unethical campaign against trump ...

The sooner he announces, the quicker people will see he's just another politician controlled and supported by the GOPe and big money, and the sooner his career is over.

Oh, good grief.

In 2020, 60% of Trump's funding came from big money donors. Out of the $1.1 billion spent, he only tossed $8 mil out of his own pocket into the race.

Trump was funded by big money donors as much as anyone. He wasn't special. And now, many of those same donors have ditched Trump and moved on to DeSantis and that's the real reason Trump is attacking DeSantis so much. He wants his donors back!

There are no excellent hires anywhere by CAREER POLITICIANS. The whole purpose of CAREER POLITICIANS is to work for and reward their sugar daddies and screw the middle class. McConnell is the leader of career politicians. Trump is disrupting their kingdom in DC which is the richest area in country.

Who is Trump’s campaign finance director, or chief strategist for that matter?

Many Only Trumpers seem to be insane, like central va. They continually respond to factual points by calling the person lots of childish names.

They say the reason Trump-backed candidates underperformed last year is because of massive vote fraud, which they think is now the norm.

At the same time, they insist Trump will blow away Biden next year and they go nuts if anyone says he’s gonna lose. But where’d the massive vote fraud go? They’re psycho.

Did Trump screw the middle class and was puppet by the rich donor class? The answer is obviously no. The donor class profits from shipping middle class manufacturing jobs to China. What did Trump do? He IMPOSED TARIFFS on China imports. That was not liked by McConnell, Romney and other career politicians.

What will happen is he'll anger about 75 million of Trump's good friends.

You're delusional if you think that all 75 million of Trump's voters are sworn cult members. Many tens of millions of them only voted for Trump because they preferred him to Biden.

And today, with Trump as the only real declared candidate and with 100% name recognition, he struggles to break 50% in the primary polling. A full half of the party is looking for someone else.

Nothing says “disruption of the swamp” like a $100k donation to the Clinton Foundation while Obama was POTUS.

So now we are going to pretend that massive numbers of Trump voters were not Cruz supporters at one time?

I predict some real screwery when Desantis declares and has to step down.

He's not going to need to step down. Florida's legislature is taking care of this.

I clearly recall Trump denigrating Cruz’s wife appearance, and accusing Cruz’s father of being behind JFK’s assassination. And you’re saying Cruz was in the gutter?

If DeSantis runs against Trump and somehow wins, (which won’t happen), he’ll lose about 65%+ of 75 million Trump voters.

But if ya think the majority of Trump’s friends will trade in Trump, the only outsider, the one who built a planet wide empire, to yet another ivy league lawyer turned professional politician, who’s only job outside government was 1 year as a grade school teacher, your not paying attention. I’ll be one of them!☺
