Climate change is driving an increase in flash droughts, or intense, rapid-onset periods of dryness, according to a study published Thursday in the journal Science.

Researchers, led by Xing Yuan of China’s Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, analyzed just over six decades of soil moisture data ranging from 1951 to 2014. When restricting the data to droughts of at least 20 days, they found a broad trend toward flash droughts occurring more quickly and frequently.

Cooling periods like the Little Ice Age led to mega-droughts. But the Dims want us to hate the Modern Warm Period like it’s some kind of bad thing.

The deadly global cooling event starting in 536 AD changed to course of world history.
There have been plenty of global cooling events in recorded human history,
all of them bad. There have been no "global warming" events in human history.
Warmth is good for life.

If it's dry for a short time (that is, in a "flash"), it's not a drought ... it's called a dry spell or, even better, "a few sunny days."

You wouldn't think that "experts" and "climate scientists" would have this much time on their hands, would you? They must still be wearing their Fauci Flu oxygen depletion masks to have inflicted this much damage to their brains ... pathetic creatures that they truly are!

You can have a flash drought ending rainfall.

There’s no such thing as a flash drought.

Droughts take time.

Just more mental cosmetics to try and increase the import
of nonsense.

PURE BULL CRAP

I live in N Nevada High Desert.

AVERAGE TOTAL precip here is 4.5 inches—including snow (melted).

Makes sense. California more or less has them, every time they decide to drain the reservoirs to save delta smelt, or some other convenient creature, or any other excuse, they create a drought in a flash.

It takes months of no rain to have a drought. Will a flash drought rip the water from the ground sending it skyward or even pull the pipes from your house to flash dry a region?

Agreed. The Dark Age cooling period (some say about AD 300 to 900) and Little Ice Age cooling Period (roughly AD 1300 to 1800's) were much harsher times to live than the warming periods we have recorded history of (Minoan Warm Period: time of Moses, Roman Warm Period: time of Christ, Medieval Warm Period: AD 900-1300, and Modern Warm Period: 1800's to ?).

The people living in British America and U.S. in the Little Ice would never dream that crops would be so plentiful that the U.S. government would pay famers to keep land fallow.
