The federal government says the COVID is over — but tell that to this upstate New York school.
A private school in Ithaca is still forcing draconian measures on its students, including making them wear masks outdoors and eat lunch in silence — three years after the pandemic began, according to a report.
The Elizabeth Ann Clune Montessori School of Ithaca (EACMSI), which costs up to $18,000 a year to attend, is currently one of the last schools in the nation to still be imposing such strict COVID measures, The Free Press reported.
Dr. Beth Stein, who pulled her kids out of EACMSI and put them in private school because of the strict measures, told The Free Press she initially welcomed the precautions, but they became overly burdensome as time went on.
“I could tolerate most of the stuff — the teachers in N95s and face shields while standing behind plexiglass barriers, the 12 feet of distance for band members, the ban on singing ‘Happy Birthday’ in class,” she said. “I just wanted them to end the outdoor masking.”

In a way I feel sorry for the weaklings who live in constant fear. And then I remember that they end up dragging everyone else into their world where there’s a virus or a Trumpist behind every bush. These are the people who demanded an enslaved world through medical imperialism and govt totalitarianism. And then I don’t feel sorry. I want the cowards defeated and shunned as they deserve. I’m tired of having to see decent people being forced to defer to these chickenshyts. Eff em.
Who would send their kids to a Montessori school for an inflexible, rote regime from teacher to student ? Very odd.
The parents make a lot of money but are idiots. They are probably all professors at Cornell. Nobody else in Ithaca makes that sort of money.

I know exactly what you mean and feel. Every time I go into a grocery store here on the San Francisco Peninsula, I STILL see 5% to 10% of shoppers wearing the face diapers. They either arrive with them on in their cars or dutifully put them on before going into the store.
I stare at them in the store thinking the same thing — I feel sorry for you to be so stupid, devoid of common sense, and willing to do that the rest of your miserable lives.
If they want to be stupid maskerbaters, fine. But keep those bacteria-laden rags off of those children’s breathing holes, you sadistic power-trippers.

What a terrible example to set for your children. There is no excuse for knuckling under to fascists especially not if your children are involved. What kind of a life lesson is that? What would it take for parents like that to pull their kids out & homeschool?
I took my dog to the vet earlier this week in a northern CT suburb—lots of Karen type women with their tiny dogs in tow—as well as several vets and their assistants. This is a busy place—probably the largest vet in the area.
There was not one mask to be seen.
Covid is dead.

I work with people from Ithaca - they still wear Che Guevara T-Shirts and think that Mao made China a better country to live in.

How nice! We split time between the SF Bay Area and North Idaho. You hardly ever saw masks in North Idaho even at peak COVID lunacy, whereas you hardly ever saw anybody WITHOUT a mask in the Bay Area. I am in Santa Clara County, the ground zero Stupid Area of all the Greater Stupid Bay Area.
Guess how the final results turned out ID v CA? Almost exactly the same on infections, hospitalizations, ICUs and deaths!
Yet you still see the masked brigade out in force in Santa Clara County.
