From Wikipedia:

Born in Jacksonville, DeSantis spent most of his childhood in Dunedin, Florida. He graduated from Yale University and Harvard Law School. DeSantis joined the United States Navy in 2004 and was promoted to lieutenant before serving as a legal advisor to SEAL Team One. He was stationed at Joint Task Force Guantanamo in 2006, and was deployed to Iraq in 2007. When he returned to the U.S. about eight months later, the U.S. Department of Justice appointed DeSantis to serve as a Special Assistant U.S. attorney at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Middle District of Florida, a position he held until his honorable discharge from active military duty in 2010.

DeSantis was first elected to Congress in 2012, defeating his Democratic opponent Heather Beaven. During his tenure he became a founding member of the Freedom Caucus and was an ally of President Donald Trump. DeSantis frequently criticized Special Council Robert Mueller’s investigation into allegations of “links and/or coordination” between the Trump campaign and Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

The military is under leftist thumbs and even if it wasn’t, it should stay out of governance.

It’s not the military’s job to fix defective elections.

Elections have to be run right in the first place:
1. accurate voter registration
2. one voter, one ballot only, and only after an appropriate & timely request
3. voting stops after the legislatively set time(s)
4. votes get counted quickly as in Florida and Texas

DeSantis needs to quit listening to Karl Rove, Paul Ryan, and the Bush brigades.

By far, his best chance is in 2028, with the full support of the populist, conservative legions.

The yahoo (Business Insider) article is dated “September 30, 2021”.

I trust the “critical race theory” stuff has been tossed here in Florida. The facts accurately presented only please.

".... could not reverse it in his single term."

He'd come damn close and fast ! Keystone pipeline, energy, economy, mass firings at FBI/DoJ, elimination of dept.of education, and moving/downsizing all the rest, facilitating govt. employee firings and hiring cooperative employees who would help--not hinder--policies. (he already has vetters vetting employees), stabilize Mid-East relations, backing down China/Russia/Ukraine.

He now knows whom to trust, and who's advise to avoid (looking at you Chris Christie among others)

Depending upon how much support he'd have in Congress, much more could be righted; gender/abortion isssues. R Senators have a very favorable map in '24, so expect Senate cooperation, and a stronger house margin.

DeSantis can listen and learn and even join the administration in '26, readying for '28 to complete the job.

DeSantis would be unwise to waste his war chest to swim upstream in '24 to run a presidential race he can't win without MAGA nation.

It is very easy to support Trump.

What is troubling is that Steube says that Trump alone is the guy we should want.

Obviously, they don’t want to be stalked by Trump cultists at their events.

I didn’t say anything about fixing elections.

I was referencing the foreign and/or domestic enemies that stole election 2020.

It’d do DeSantis good to get the national exposure as it did for Reagan in 1976 when he ran against Ford .

Bingo! It's funny how obvious that is from a distance. I guess up close the brass ring shines bright.

TRUMP: “Well, look, I’m very pro-choice. I hate the concept of abortion. I hate it. I hate everything it stands for. I cringe when I listen to people debating the subject. But you still — I just believe in choice. And, again, it may be a little bit of a New York background, because there is some different attitude in different parts of the country. And, you know, I was raised in New York, and grew up and work and everything else in New York City. But I am strongly for choice and, yet, I hate the concept of abortion.”

RUSSERT: “But you would not ban it?

TRUMP: “No.”

RUSSERT: “Or ban partial birth abortion?”

TRUMP: “No. I am pro-choice in every respect and as far as it goes, but I just hate it.”

American Republicans (typically) will be making their choice known.

DeSantis should be encouraged to step up to the 2024 plate and bat the ‘rats out of the park.

For one, slavery was largely a private matter until 1861.

Second, take a google Streetview tour around Highland Park & Detroit, Michigan.

CRT does not belong in school because it race shames white students. Race shaming is illegal in federally funded schools. Race shaming has no place in K-12 public education.

He probably won’t be the only one running against Trump for the Republican presidential nomination.

I say let him try for 2024.
