Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) on Thursday asked Chief Justice John Roberts to testify in Congress about the court’s ethical standards amid a controversy surrounding Justice Clarence Thomas.
Durbin vowed to hold a hearing on May 2 on ethical rules at the high court after a ProPublica investigation revealed that Thomas took various luxury trips over the years paid for by Harlan Crow, a Dallas-based real estate developer who has donated millions to conservative causes.
“The time has come for a new public conversation on ways to restore confidence in the Court’s ethical standards. I invite you to join it, and I look forward to your response,” Durbin wrote in a letter to Roberts on Thursday, also inviting him to designate another justice in his place.

Abu Ghraib is when he showed his true colors. Dissed our military big-time. It was a bad thing to do to those prisoners but the military should have been allowed to deal with it themselves. It shows the contempt the left has for those who protect them.
If Thomas was a smart alec he’d say that hanging out with an old rich friend is a tax like the Obamacare mandate.
The “controversy” is that Justice Thomas is a black man who thinks for himself. Democrats hate people like that.
Roberts is still concealing the name of the Leaker on their Abortion Decision. The fact that we haven’t heard a thing leads me to believe the guilty party is a a Liberal Justice or a key member of a Liberal Justice’s Staff.
If you want a Justice to testify, impeach him.
Don't ask a Justice to testify just so you can claim a cover-up after he refuses.

Roberts needs to tell little Dick to go take a flyin’ leap at a rollin’ donut.
The word ethics and the name of a Chicago politician scumbag should NEVER BE USED in the same sentence.
