McCarthy says Biden is ‘afraid to even negotiate’ about budget, debt ceiling

Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said Sunday that President Biden is “afraid” to negotiate about the budget and debt ceiling, blaming him for the U.S. potential default on loans.

“And then he’s jeopardizing Medicare and Social Security, because, for the first time in a 10-year window, not just the Highway Trust Fund, but Medicare and Social Security becomes insolvent, so it automatically gets cut,” McCarthy told Fox’s Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures.”

McCarthy is afraid to hold the line on spending.

The democrats have the ability to shutdown the government and force the repubs to do what they want them too but it has to be done

McCarthy is a clown who says:

“Social Security becomes insolvent, so it automatically gets cut”

Here is the real Social Security—it is a file cabinet:

https://moneymorning.com/2017/03/31/the-social-security-trust-fund-is-just-a-stack-of-ious-in-a-west-virginia-filing-cabinet/

Files cabinets full of non-marketable “securities” cannot be “insolvent” by definition—there is no there there.

Once he gets the basic facts wrong his opinion is no longer relevant.

McCarthy promised 3/9/23 to release 42,000 hours of J6 surveillance video to the public. There has been media silence since then. His words are meaningless.

Well he is still Speaker of the House. I want to see what happens. If he going to hold the line with federal spending, or is he going to fold like a cheap suit,

I suspect you are right.

This will probably go down much the same way it did in the Obama years:

1.) Biden and McCarthy will clash and not compromise at the beginning.
2.) A deadline will come with no agreement and the government may shut down.
3.) Biden and the Dems will go on a “misery tour” around the country blaming Republicans.
4.) Republicans will get nervous and eventually cave.

This seems to have been a repeated pattern so I have no reason to believe it will be any different.

Nothing will get cut.

The Federal Reserve will just print more money.

In Fiscal 2018 and 2019 - before Covid - Trump's first two budgets received record tax collections, but still had almost $1 trillion of deficit spending each year!

This will go on until no one in the entire world will loan us money or accept our currency.

Complete insanity.

He doesn’t have to.

Both the House and the Senate will give him everything he wants.

Think many modest bills, each with a debt limit increase and either a spending cut or reform.

Get Joe lots of chances to be reasonable. He needs them.

The message needs to get to the young people that the debt will impact their future, especially the carrying costs.

McCarthy couldn't negotiate his way out of a wet paper bag. He's a gutless, spineless, RINO. McCarthy's starting point for negotiating is an increase in spending. That's completely eff'd up.

A real negotiator would begin with the goal of no increase in the debt limit and spending cut that are 20% more than what is needed to not bust through the debt limit. Then negotiations begin. They end when Democrats push for spending that requires an increase in the debt limit. All throughout negotiating you make the arguments for why spending cuts are needed and good for all Americans.

Heritage has a Mandate for Leadership 2025 book set.

It might offer many bases for debt deals.

It’s an interesting strategy, calling Biden a coward for refusing to negotiate. Maybe it’ll work who knows.

I hope they take out those veterans cut. They are nuclear. I’m not sure why republicans always go after veterans.
