FLINT, Mich. (NewsNation) — Public schools in Flint are enforcing a policy banning backpacks, including those made of clear plastic material, amid concerns over firearms, weapons and threats.
The Flint Board of Education voted 7-0 to ban backpacks for the remainder of the school year. The new policy allows small purses for personal items, clear plastic bags for gym clothes and lunchboxes “within reason.” They’ll also be subject to searches.
Flint Community Schools Superintendent Kevelin Jones said, “Things have changed,” and it’s the only way to move forward.
“For the most part, the majority of our families are putting in measures before something happens,” he said.

Just another signpost that government schools, especially leftist ones, are not a place for children.
You can carve out a textbook on gender change and hide a pistol in it. Maybe they should be banned.
Banning guns didn’t work. So try banning bags they can be carried in. A better idea would be to look at the root causes of why some students get a gun and open fire in schools. Could it have something to do with schools eliminating all concepts of right or wrong that the kids learned from their parents?

School safety should be simple.
Secure the property, monitor the entry and exit ways.
Secure the building(s), LOCK the doors.
Democrats did this to the black community - and they’re working very hard to do it to the rest of us.
First progressives create the hellhole - they they work at spreading it.
Or the fact that they don't have parents who teach such old fashioned concepts?
They should ban hoodies.
Backpacks don’t kill people, IED’s kill people.
Plastic Grocery bags are in store for school in Flint.
When backpacks are illegal only criminals will have them.
So, the boys have to carrying purses now, like the gals do? //
Government issued, clear sparkly purses like Dylan Mulvany, probably.
When it is too dangerous to carry backpacks at school, it is too dangerous to go to school!
Common.
Or clear back packs are required.
Guns, drugs, and booze.
Most stores by high schools ban back packs and hoodies
Most school staff do not comply with locked doors.
They prop them open, disable, them or turn them off for various reasons.
The public sector is about 30 years behind the private sector in security

“you’ll be wantin’ the señorita pistols as well?”
All the kids I ever went to school with NEVER carried backpacks.
