Title 42 jitters rattle Democratic unity
The Hill ^ | 05/05/2023 | RAFAEL BERNAL

Concerns over the impending end of Title 42 are highlighting rifts among Democrats on either side of Pennsylvania Avenue as the party hunkers down to await the political ramifications of the policy’s termination.

The Trump-era policy changing the way officials can process migrants they encounter crossing the border will conclude along with other pandemic emergency measures on Thursday, forcing officials to return to regular processing — and potentially prompting hundreds of thousands of migrants camped along the border to attempt to enter the United States.

Sen. Bob Menéndez (D-N.J.), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has led the charge for Democrats critical of the administration’s plans for after the end of Title 42, most recently hitting the White House’s deployment of 1,500 active duty troops to support border officials.

Are Democrats afraid of more illegal flooding their cities?

But these same Democrats have declared some of these cities to be Sanctuary cities for illegal aliens.

How do they explain this seeming contradiction, between being Sanctuary cities and welcoming to illegals, and saying that too many have been deposited in their cities?

Yay! More jobs created than EVER! We need those 700,00 illegals on the border now!

Watch the next month employment figures revised negatively like the months before.

The propaganda is so bad at this point, viewing everything this admin and the rest of them say to the opposite of what they say is the best course.

It’s too late they’re coming by the multiple millions and there aren’t crap we can do about it. My city is littered with thousands of them in downtown. You’ve seen the video of them. They’re waiting for their free rides their goodies the works. They all have cell phones and guess what they’re encouraging their family to make the rush to the border as well. So we’re not just looking at a family of four they are bringing their entire extended family that extends to probably 100 of them. Hispanic families have huge extended family members so expect them to come as well.

5th Gen Texan here. Moved my family to Montana. Best decision I ever made. Texas is lost. Go look at the 18 and under demo stats. Large swaths of Texas are already North Mexico and the entire state will be in a decade +/- I don’t want my kids raised like that. The crime on my former home city, ATX, has absolutely sky-rocketed. City is unrecognizable.

democrats who oppose this do not understand white house thinking.

all those people flooding the border will be voters in 2024— if they come to democrat cities where the democrats control the entire voting process.

The wall would have been the most effective and humane way of keeping them out.

The conundrum for dems is how to blame this on Republicans.
Those seeking employment will not legally be eligible for a good while. Seems the system is behind around 5 years to issue a green card. What will these people do in the meantime?

This happened to me last week and I live in the sticks of Appalachia. They were not even from this continent. Three women with floral print dresses and 6 kids. I gather they were from Pakistan. My first thought was they were gypsies. Some were caught locally recently running card skimmers at a gas station. I can’t believe I was drafted to be sent to defend the border of Vietnam. 1500, should be 15,000 Marines sent into our enemy Mexico.

This is why Trump needs Republican support in Congress if he’s re-elected next year. Nothing done by the Executive Branch has any permanence unless Congress backs it up with legislation. Biden has been able to repeal or let lapse everything Trump did to enforce our borders.

Pfft …3? Try thousands in my hometown city square alone! Sooner or later, they’re going to get desperate and they’re going to succumb to crime, prostitution, breaking into homes, stealing cars, car hijacking, smash and grab merchandise from grocery stores will be an epidemic problem among the invaders. Folks I’m already seen it firsthand here in our town.

My old hometown was exactly like that. That’s why I’m not there anymore. Every week the sheriff showed pictures of those held for ICE and were somewhere around 12 percent of the weekly jail numbers for several years. You should have seen the pictures.

I looked at the figures given at the site and I came up with a figure that we’re spending roughly $6500 for each illegal, which to me seems pretty low. (Now I freely admit my math may be wrong).

Consider how many illegals are kids under 18. Each one can go to a public school at taxpayer expense. In NYC each kid costs something like $24,000/ year in tuition. But even in Mississippi the cost is around $8,000 per year. Add in food stamps/SNAP, housing allowance, medical costs...

But at least the figure is a start. I cannot believe the Republicans are not making an issue of this. Basically illegals are crowding out Americans when it comes to social welfare services.
