So…this is an unusual question one might ask about a presidential candidate, but nevertheless, it happened.
Washington Post reporter Ben Terris spoke with Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) while he was in the process of writing his soon-to-be released book The Big Break: The Gamblers, Party Animals, and True Believers Trying to Win in Washington While America Loses Its Mind. The book is described on Amazon as a profile Washington power players who have tried to navigate the raucousness and political upheaval DC has seen in the last several years.
Scott is now prepared to enter the 2024 Republican primary, and his campaign message is expected to be based upon his religious convictions and an optimistic outlook for America. Since this makes Scott’s input that much more interesting for Terris’ book, the latter decided to share details from an interview they had where Terris apparently asked Scott if he was still a virgin.
“I’m not talking about my sex life with Ben Terris,” Scott reportedly said before excusing himself to use the restroom. Terris also included an explanation for why he asked the question.
Because Terris admitted it was an “awkward question” to say the least, he added that he scripted himself on how to approach Scott on the subject. That’s what led to Scott’s suggestion that he did not save himself until marriage.
Terris also held a Twitter exchange with Washington Monthly’s Bill Scher, which touched upon a previous profile on Scott, written by Terris, in which he also hinted that he was no longer a virgin.
Why not! Since he’s dead he would be as effective as Feinstein & Fetterman!
Someone should ask the same question to Lindsey Graham. So both of my senators are unmarried males. Time they came out of the closet.
Better question: “Is Ben Terris homosexual?”
What’s going on in those palmettos?
Scott is not the drone we are looking for.
What is it with South Carolina that the voters elect light in the loafers types to the U.S. Senate? Oh well, if Pennsylvania can elect a vegetable to the Senate and California has a woman who appears to be on the verge of death in the Senate, South Carolina can elect two men of questionable sexual preference to the office.
At least it wasn’t the usual Uncle Tom question.
The GOP wants a token black on the debate stage. We already have a token minority woman, Nikki Hayley. Check the box.
“Tim Scott apparently ran for the Charleston City Council pledging to save his virginity until marriage, and he is still unmarried...”
He made a campaign promise and we have the right to know if he fulfilled his campaign promise.
Lesson being, do not make campaign promises that you are unwilling to confirm.
If I was Tom Scott, I’d say “At least I never slept with a Chinese spy.”. 🤓
Don’t ask, don’t tell.
The filters of common sense and decency are gone and the masses want more and more salacious content instead of the facts and the truth.
He should have asked the so called reporter if he still beats his wife/girlfriend.
“Would he have asked if Senator Scott was white?”
He should ask SC other Senator about certain aspects about his sex life.
Head of the line? He’s running like five or so others. Since when is it revolting to you that a black man run for president of our party?
I can see a primary debate question by some dem:
“Mr Scott, are you still a virgin and will you commit to the voters to remain a virgin until you are married and if not, why not?”
I know the truth when it comes to myself and sex I don’t know if the media and the public need to know but in politics it will all be dug up real or fake by your political enemies.
Tim Scott is getting his anal exam whether he wants it or not.
Liberal reporters are not really reporters.
Scott has never been married, or had kids, claims to be a virgin. That’s unfit for the Presidency IMO. If he has never tamed a woman, how is he gonna take on Xi, the EU, Soros, the FBI, the CIA, Bin Salman, Erdogan etc?
If you haven’t ridden the Shetland pony merry go round at the fair, you have no business getting up on a bucking bronco.
