Utah doesn’t. The GOPe in the State does. The Mormon authorities do too. Most rank and file people in Utah don’t.
I’ve met the guy. Sharp young Morgan Stanley trader with little kids in the burbs. Seems modest enough.
There was also a rumor the speaker of the UT house might step in.
If Mitt wins the primary, the local and state GOP is going to have blood on the walls.
Waiting for the “This guy is unelectable” crowd of bush league chamber of commerce worshipping republiCAN’Ts to chime in...
I think they’ve had enough of Pierre DeLecto. 😏
Trump will endorse him again. He whipped votes for Mitt’s niece, after all. And he’s endorsed Mittens in primaries before.
*LINDA SC HAS TO GO!! I PRAY SC can find a really strong conservative candidate preferably an OUTSIDER business person!!*
Calm down. Will SC ‘find’ a strong conservative? Answer is no. Linda has to take himself out. No one will challenge him. Only someone who wants a house seat later on. He/she will look down the roster and see who’s getting old in a solid red district and move there.
In ‘25 Trump could always kick Linda upstairs and offer him a cabinet post. Someone else gets a head start on ‘26. Too smooth.
Mexicans can wear magic underwear too.
...and they work a lot cheaper than the blond haired, blue eyed Mormons.
If the Utah speaker gets in, along with this young mayor, they might divide the anti-Romney vote.
Would the Republican primary be first-past-the-post, so Romney could win with 40%? Or is there a runoff if no one gets a majority? A runoff would make it easier for conservatives to coalesce.
