Trump happens to be right....again...Woke has certain meaning in the right wing circles and an entirely different meaning in left win circles.

Conservative; I was watching a Netflix show and there was a black character, an Asian and gay character. I’m tired of woke Hollyweird.
Some people see it positively and other negatively so when you attack “woke” you can’t be sure how anyone takes it...it’ll be based on their perspective, culture etc.
Desanctimonius defined it as Cultural Marxism. I’m am very confident that you won’t have a 90% number agreeing with that definition at all.

He also used it here. He didn’t say he never uses it or didn’t use it he said he didn’t like the term because lots of people don’t really know what it means which is right. (See above post). People complain that Trump doesn’t learn but here he is trying to find a better way to communicate the point. Maybe he’s doing because he hears it differently coming from Desanctimonius...in this case, good.
Woke is used to describe those people who believe they are superior to those who do not agree with them.
Trump is allowed to be in favor of all those things, and his supporters should learn to support those things.
If we stop using the term “woke” most opposition will evaporate.
I don’t think so. By that measure, Rich Lowry and most National Review writers are “woke.”

I don’t believe Lowry has it right. The word woke was not “taken over by conservatives,” it was becoming used by the left to describe themselves, and as such, being “woke” was considered a virtue. Still is.

Woke literally means you “woke up” to the “fact” that you are an oppressor merely because you are either white, a male or are straight. And because you are an oppressor you have to be more than happy to do whatever the oppressed tell you to do because your ancestors oppressed their ancestors. That includes holding back your children in favor of their children which a good woke person would gladly do.
