Why?

Trump may end up in jail (on fraudulent charges but what does that matter?) and you Desantis haters will have ended up doing damage to Desantis chances. Thus helping the Dems.

Maybe we should just support Trump without carrying out this campaign against Desnatis? 🤔

It seems like on Free Republic anymore, we are encouraged to say we are on Team Trump, or Team DeSantis, and are encouraged to trash the other, declare we would never vote for the other, etc.

There seems to be a dearth of those who would happily support either Trump or DeSantis, assuming one or the other gets the GOP nomination, and not someone else.

We are told, depending which partisan is talking to you, that selecting the other as the GOP nominee will lead us to defeat and despair.

The RDS crew here hate DJT to the point where the remaining rational crew here a getting turned off to RDS because of it.

So asking them to do that is impossible, and asking the DJT crew to support someone they see as a neocon agent is also going to be hard.

“Trump may end up in jail”

He’s not going to jail. That’s some stupid lib fantasy. And a trial if it happens won’t be until way after the election and Trump is likely President.

It’s disappointing that DeSantis supporters want Trump in jail. Shame on you. Take your own advice and stop regurgitating the Democrat Party-line.

By the way this article isn’t an attack. It is information and from a pro- Desantis website. Discuss it, debate it or move on. Enough of this whiny crap about Desantis.

I doubt many Republicans (other than Lizard Cheney and Asa Hutchinson, and maybe Romney or Christie) really want Trump to go to prison. No doubt a lot of Democrats do hope that happens.

The Democrats tend to overplay their hand (see Wellstone funeral) but even Biden may realize that actually imprisoning Trump would backfire. I think the Democrats want Trump to be the Republican nominee because (1) they think he will be easy to beat and (2) then the election can all be about saying how awful Trump is while ignoring the disaster that the current administration has been. If they can get a jury to convict Trump of something before the election, that would be helpful to them. But they may figure that a hefty fine plus probation or a suspended sentence would play better with the voters than actually putting a former President in jail over B.S. "crimes."

Like me, many Trump supporters will not be voting for the GOP-E / Globalist Stooge DeSantis whether he gets the Nomination or Not.

If DeSanctimonious is the Nominee, I write in Trump!

DeSantis is just a more polished GWB. Focus on the Moral Issues, while being a Globalist / GOP-E on Foreign Policy.

I will not vote for these fake MAGA candidates anymore.
