Ron DeSantis on if He Would Support Donald Trump: ‘I Don’t Think It’s Going to Ultimately Matter’
Breitbart ^ | 06/22/2023 | HANNAH BLEAU

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Thursday said he does not believe it will “ultimately matter” when asked if he would personally support former President Donald Trump if he emerges as the Republican nominee in 2024, using the opportunity to criticize the GOP frontrunner.

A reporter asked DeSantis about Trump’s attacks against him, inquiring, “Regardless of his attacks, will you 100 percent pledge to support Trump as a GOP nominee?”

DeSantis, however, initially refused to overtly state if he would personally support Trump. Rather, he first criticized Trump’s line of attack, particularly on DeSantis’s handling of the coronavirus, only later adding that the process — people’s final decision — should be respected.

Another political bought-and-paid for swamp wannabe that the swamp loves, or an outsider the swamp hates.

It’s so hard to decide.

Ron’s a one-man wrecking crew. Of his own campaign.

It’s been one stumble after another, and now he seems to be going out of his way to prove Donald Trump’s claim that he’s disloyal.

If by some miracle he does get the nomination, does he think Trump supporters will forgive and forget?

Ron thinks it wont matter, because, he’s got hopes that democrats will take care of the matter for him. Cheerleader SeSantis might be working with the democrats to make sure Trump doesn’t get the nomination.

I like DeSanis, but he’s going too far.

I like DeSantis as my gov, I really wish he hadn’t run.

I wish either he waiting until 2028, or Trump bowed out for 2024. Neither happened. Here we are. Ugly season. Bad and foolish things are coming out of both campaigns.

Given that, I still want them to debate. But the tarnish is definitely building up on DeSantis. Trump's baggage is already well known.

It’s not a complicated answer:

“If I am the nominee I will be voting for myself. Otherwise I will be voting for the Republican nominee. I will not be voting for the Democrat nominee or any third party candidate. I will not be a pantywaist like Christie Todd Whitman, for example, who can’t bring themselves to vote for the Republican nominee. Again. I will be voting for the Republican nominee, whether it be myself or some other candidate, including Donald Trump, should he be the nominee.”

All he or any of them would have to say is that they will support the Republican nominee. If they want the support of Republican voters, they need to support the Republican nominee. That’s what a lot of the GOP rank and file have done, even when the nominee is a stinker.

Exactly! If he is the candidate and not Trump I guess I would vote for him but I have grave doubts he could win the whole country. I feel bad for his family who is getting put through the wringer.

Yes he does think that, because at that point, the alternative is to vote for Biden. He expects former Trump will support the GOP nominee, because the alternative is four more years of Biden .

A typical "gotcha" trap question, and I'll wager that RDS anticipated it and had the appropriate dismissal ready.

The only way for a wise competitor to answer is to be agnostic, and not yes or no.

A vote for Ronald Herbert Walker DeSantis is a vote for the swamp.

Don’t need to bother voting for that default result.
