My point was usually, there are electronics indicating if a line is out, for whatever reason (sometimes just faulty electronics) But who knows, maybe being remote and freight, they don’t bother.

No, that’s called the straw that broke the camel’s back.

It’s fatigue failure, and the loco might have pushed the issue some, and then the continued weight brought it down.

Oh please.

Yes, they could, but mere deraillings happen a lot. This was not derailing, but bridge failure.

Besides, how many times do we have to note that Moslems aren’t stupid. They hit what will make a real impact and they want the notoriety.

My first thought was fatigue or corrosion, too, but the pier between the two spans in the water is definitely not visible. I think high waters finally got it.

With that type of bridge, each span needs its own piers at each end.

I just can’t help but wonder if this is an organized sabotage campaign funded by foreign agents in response of the current admin stabbing them in the back

based on the image, the train did not derail, the bridge de-trained!

The rails were impressively bent to conform to the new shape of the bridge.

Ever try to bend a rail in the vertical direction?

As I stated elsewhere, aerial maps show it has 2 piers. Which would make sense for 3 trusses. It must have been dragged along over the 1 pier to end up in the water.

Sigh.

Not every accident is a terrorist or other conspiracy.

They would not be so lame as to sabotage a bit of a freight train in the middle of nowhere in MT. It has to be something big and really impactful. This ain’t it. And neither is that Philly bridge.
