Pointing out that poeple have to sacrifice and work hard to "get ahead" isn't a boomer trait. It's a fact of life. Nothing comes easy except living off mom or dad or living off the government.
I was recently removed from a group where I was to learn how to train people. First meeting the 22yo HR girl was telling us we should coddle and reassure the person if they get something wrong. I blurted out “kicking the can down the road”. A week later my boss told me I was no longer part of that group and I shouldn’t just say what comes to mind. I guess I am the old codger at work.
“Impossible to reprimand, let alone terminate for incompetence.”
Or friend’s brother hired one of the Gen Z-ers. The day after his first day at work, the guy’s mother called the supervisor to explain “how her son needs to be spoken to”. LOL! Mommy butts in.
“Impossible to reprimand, let alone terminate for incompetence.”
So they’re all union members?
I did not find that verse, but how about these that seem ripped from today's headlines? Deuteronomy 28:43-44 43 The foreigners who reside among you will rise above you higher and higher, but you will sink lower and lower. 44 They will lend to you, but you will not lend to them. They will be the head, but you will be the tail.
That is the behavior that colleges now give students solid passing grades for, so they enter the workforce really detached from reality.
But this type of young adult is being churned out at such a rate, despite the exceptions, that they are becoming the new American reality: ripe for the Chinese and globalist taking.
I gave brand new snow shovels to a couple of nephews one Christmas.
They (and everyone else) were stunned!
My 20-something daughter was working two part-time jobs, and the one turned into a full-time job. She went to her manager at the other store to put in her two weeks notice.
“Two weeks notice? People still do that? Let me check the schedule....Okay - can you come in for the next two days at your normal time and then you can be done.”
My daughter said most people just don’t go into work when they quit their jobs! She would often get last-minute calls to fill their spots. Granted, she was just working at a big-box store and a hotel, but still.
I forgot to add they come in dressed like hookers, fingernails 3 inches long, colored hair, piercings everywhere, visible tats, and have never opened a dictionary or thesaurus.
ROFLMAOPIMP !!!
One thing I do think GenZ has got to shake is the hatred of life.
Doing Uber, I have a few GenZ passengers.. and we talk.
One of them said something haunting a few weeks ago:
“We have billions of content providers pouring over us like water. They say the same thing: The planet is dying. GenZ is lazy and worthless and stupid.” (I paraphrase, of course)
But it’s true to them too. The world is out to get them in insult and critique all the while telling them it’s not worth it anyway because the earth is dying and soon they will too.
Why do Gen Z’ers think they’re so smart? They reject any evidence they don’t agree with, which tells me they’re really stupid.
Then they'd better prepare for the NEXT world!
It is a consequence of the self esteem movement ...
Generation MorphTattoo.
Met a secretary last night from my 16yr old’s summer job. She was going off on what a good worker he was and how the world should be full of boys like him. Not to brag (maybe a little), but maybe we can turn this around. At least it’s a huge opportunity for the younger generation that wants to work. And why not, it’s built into our DNA. Good job on raising your daughter.
Whenever I brag about my kids I figure as a dad that’s okay (just don’t brag about myself). Of course when they screw things up it’s “Well, what can you do - they’re adults now.”
At our conservative church we have a LOT of students from the local state university (very liberal). That gives me a lot of hope. Although I wish my kids gave God a higher priority than they do.
