Everyone in life faces disadvantages of one form or another. Almost all children get called an unpleasant name or two in grade school. Some are oppressed by a drunk, abusive, or absent parent. Others may be trapped in horrific schools or extreme poverty. Still others are simply not gifted with high IQs or the ambition to work hard and succeed. The list of reasons why most people don’t go to Ivy League schools and then on to lucrative careers is long, and “oppression” comes in many forms.
If you are the first black White House family, oppression takes the shape of having only two exclusive island waterfront mansions in which to spend your days. Sometimes, you simply must jet to the Greek isles to vacation with your Hollywood besties at their Aegean private island manse. People covered the former first family’s sad exile these past few weeks:

THAT is likely what she got her JD for. She wouldn’t know oppression if it smacked her in the face.
It didn’t help Meshelle much to have gone to Princeton or Harvard Law as she flunked the Illinois bar exam, which has a current pass rate of 65 percent and used to have a 90 percent rate. I guess it was because she was “oppressed” and couldn’t get her mind off it during the test.

Yeah I read some of that......nothing but “everything is racist” this, “everything is racist” that IIRC.
Like yldstrk, I have read M. Obama’s college sociology “thesis” project, which was just a writeup of a very shallow questionaire indulging her lifelong fixation on race. The questionaire sought information on what African American graduates of Princeton had done to “give back to the black community”. Many an eighth grader could have completed a better project. It’s sad that in four years of opportunity at Princeton, she neglected to develop academic skills, and with an entire world of places, peoples and topics before her, found nothing worthy of study beyond her own situation.
I don’t dislike Michelle Obama, and see her as a victim of herself, oppressed with guilt over her unearned adulation and perquisites when others have nothing. (Like almost anyone, she does not feel enough guilt to say no.) She almost certainly had no desire to stop “giving back to the community” as a $300k per year bill collector for a Chicago hospital, to be “First Lady”.
