Miami — A controversial Florida law which took effect Saturday no longer recognizes driver's licenses issued to undocumented immigrants from other states, among other restrictions.
It is part of a sweeping immigration bill signed by Republican Florida governor and presidential candidate Ron DeSantis back in May that is prompting many to leave the state.
The run-up to the new law has sparked protests by immigrant workers, from those in the tourism and hospitality industry, to those who work in agricultural fields.

Illegals should not be issued driver’s licenses. Period.
I saw a protest about this ..while i was down in Fl.. their were ..at least.. 200 protesters. I don’t think it helped they were waving about 100 Mexican flags and only 2 or 3 US flags..
Rats. That means we might get more wetbacks in Oklahoma. Like, whenever I hear of some mass exodus from the People’s Republic of Kommiefornia, I get that same pit in my stomach. Why can’t all these creeps stay put?

My DL has never marked my citizenship. Maybe non-citizens have a special note, but I expect any state which allows illegals to get a DL would make sure not to note that the driver is an illegal.
I’m in Florida. On the first day of the new law my buddy’s son arrived on his construction site and of the 60 framers there were three. A week later, there was a new crew, all citizens.
Giving an illegal "immigrant" a driver's license is like handing a receipt to a shoplifter.
A lot of U.S. states are now handing out driver’s licenses that can be used for driving or ID in their state or others, WITHOUT proof of citizenship or legal residency. It’s done to allow them to drive, hopefully to a job, but a lot are not going to jobs and are terrible drivers.
When I’m at a four-way stop sign or light in South Milwaukee where a lot of Hispanics/Latinos live, I look both ways several times before resuming driving.
The illegal aliens were able to get a DL in TN from 2004 until 2006...
I recently saw a Nevada one. They say for driving only, cannot be used as Identification.
Notice that this has not happened in any other Red State, and didn’t happen in Fl until the Gov was running in the Presidential Repub Primary.
The UniParty Repubs could have done this 20 years ago when the illegal driver’s licenses first started.
I don’t believe they’re leaving and if so they were planning on doing so anyway.
Bringing all these illegals in benefits the Democrats who promises them all the ‘freebies’ necessary for life for their help and votes to remain in power.
There’s not much fruit to pick right now. There were a bunch after the hurricane came thru to do the cleanup and rebuilding. Most of that is done.
Good law. Does not recognize unlawful actions by other states.
