Ben and Jerry's founder Ben Cohen was arrested Thursday by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) police for blocking the entrance to the Department of Justice (DOJ) building in Washington, D.C., where he was protesting the detainment of Julian Assange.
Assange is currently imprisoned at Belmarsh Prison in London and may soon be extradited to the U.S.
Images from the scene showed Cohen sitting next to a woman holding a "free Assange" sign as police and security personnel stood nearby. Later images .. showed Cohen being lead away in handcuffs by DHS officers.

Why was he arrested? The reason mentioned is stupid.
To keep Americans from knowing about how the NSA, CIA and FBI is spying on Americans.
I say, throw him in the gulag alongside the Jan 6 protesters!

Well, that is an idea. His crime is as puny as the J6ers. Years in the Gulag and forced vaccinations is only fair.
Why Julian Assange was arrested.
Assange is a political prisoner plain and simple. I remember stories of people locked up for years in the Tower of London. Julian Assange is now one of those guys living that reality.
What he did was publish leaked information. Like the NYT and the WaPo have done for years without any ramifications. Jailed on a pretense of a rape charge, that has now been erased, because the girl probably died of old age now. What a travesty. I used to think of America as the “good guys”. We are as black and evil as those we call the bad guys in reality.
It was a brain freeze- that’s the only reason he got this one right.

When is he and his boyfriend going to Sign Over their Building back to the Indians they stole it from??
Probably trying to distract from and halt the boycott of them over his “return the land to the indigenous” message on Independence Day.
Our side has been supporting Assange... why is a Ben and Jerry commie helping him?
Seize the corporate headquarters because he did insurrection protest, and give the land to the indian tribe.
In case everyone does not know - B&J made a confrontational July 4th public statement about the land stolen from America's indigenous people.

When Assange was still in his 20s, he hacked into several USA corporate and federal computer systems.
Then, he bragged about it on the Dark Web, and his screen name was eventually linked back to his real name.
Those used to be the USA charges against him, but new charges may have been added, and old charges subtracted, since then.
