The new Florida Atlantic University Mainstreet PolCom Lab poll showed that Trump held a 20-point lead over DeSantis among registered GOP voters when asked whom they would support if the 2024 primary were held today. Half said Trump, while 30 percent said DeSantis and 7 percent said they were undecided.

Other candidates who trailed behind them include entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy at 4 percent; Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) at 3 percent; and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), former Vice President Mike Pence and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson (R) each at 2 percent. Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) followed with 1 percent.

The Never-Trumpers have picked the wrong hill to die on, if they are trying to keep Trump from being on the primary ballots anywhere. Even in the states where they may enjoy some success in suppressing the listing on the ballot, there will still be a significantly large number of write-ins for Trump.

Keeping Trump from being in the general election, after his overwhelming nomination to be President on the Republican ticket, is a fool’s errand at best.

Regan told his campaign to not advertise against him in his home state.

He didn’t think it was appropriate, so they didn’t.

“ The rats want Trump as the nominee, they just want him so damaged he will be unelectable in the general election. It would be better if Trump dropped out. Trump was a great president but he can’t win the 5 or so swing states.”

What evidence do you have that any other Republican can do better?

Someone who understands. Desantis candidacy and extreme positions he has taken is to move Trump to the right and damage him for general election...he is on a stealth kamikaze mission...he knows he can’t beat Trump...he’s hoping something takes him out. SAD...he destroyed himself.

It would be better if Trump dropped out.

You people have to actually beat him in the primary.

You can't, even though every DeSantis supporter has made this same argument, every hour, ad nauseam, that "Trump can't win the general so he should drop out." You haven't convinced GOP voters you're right, which is why DeSantis is LOSING support on the daily.

That DeSantis can't beat Trump in the primary is his campaign's fatal flaw, which is why you all pull the "Trump-should-just-surrender" card.

That's not how this works.

I hate this “Trump can’t win” idiocy.

He WON so big that even after switching 15% of the votes from Trump to Biden they STILL had to close the polls in 4 places and manufacture 4 million votes in the middle of the night.

Agree. If it were a persuasive argument, DeSantis would be gaining supporters. He's losing them.

Who made the call to stop the counting on election night 11/03/20? Funny how that happened..NOT. I was at a watch party that was tuned into Fox and noticed not once did it show Trump ahead where in years past the GOP Candidate was always ahead with KY, WV and IN reporting early and the Rats having VT. Then they make that AZ call. It was disgusting and so obvious that the fix was in.

Really interesting substate results:

“DeSantis actually has an edge in Duval (37% to 36%) and is competitive in Northwest Florida (down 45% to 41%) as well as Southwest Florida (down 37% to 35%). But in the Tampa area, DeSantis is down 56% to 31%. In the Orlando area, DeSantis trails 45% to 29%. And in Miami-Dade, where DeSantis just spoke at the Lincoln Day dinner this weekend, the Governor is down 70% to 11%.”

When you’re kind of a n00b, you don’t really have any creds - so try not to say dumb stuff... like you’re doing now.
