Criminals have been given a “licence to shoplift” in the UK as police resources are spent elsewhere, warned the head of a major retailer.

Dame Sharon White, the chairwoman of John Lewis & Partners, which operates department stores and the upmarket supermarket chain Waitrose in the UK has warned of increased criminality, including shoplifting and assaults on retail workers amid the cost of living crisis. She stated that assaults on employees at Waitrose had doubled since 2020.

Citing research from the British Retail Consortium, Dame Sharon noted that there are 850 incidents of abuse or violence at retail stores in Britain every day. In the year leading up to April, retailers throughout the country lost a record high £950 million to shoplifting and theft, up from £663 million during the previous year.

As some point you have to believe when governments around the Western World all act the same way, it’s not a coincidence, it’s a coordinated decision.

Look at Covid, nearly every Western Country acted the same, some more harsh than others, but only Sweden actually did something different.

Defunding or making the police back off criminals is not only happen around many parts of the US, now it’s happening in the UK, IMO, this is not by accident.

What’s probably going to happen is brick and mortar stores will close or mostly close. Those that remain will look like stores of the early nineteen hundreds where you approach a counter, pay for the item and someone or something goes to the back and gets it. There will probably be an airlock that requires the other door to be closed before the next door can be opened. Someone will actively push a button to open one or both doors.

It’s worth noting that the UK is currently governed by the Tories, Britain’s “conservative” party. Should the radical Labour Party win the next election, things will get worse, much worse.

And most polls do predict a Labour win.

Very true.

Of course the fish rots from the head down.

When bigwigs like Hillary Biden etc clearly break the law and not get prosecuted, it sends a message down the line to the people.
And having Soros funded district attorneys who fail to prosecute lawbreakers, you have a system wide breakdown of society.

Destroying a society is easier than creating one.

We are Rome in it’s last days. The only difference is the barbarians are home grown.

A FREEPORT elsewhere suggested this is a way to shut down brick and mortar stores... we would all be stuck purchasing online where 1. they can use our purchases for social credit scoring, 2. prohibit some people from buying, as they now try to prohibit “deplorables” from having bank accounts, and 3. turn us into a cashless society.

More and more I feel like emigrating. We are going down a darker and darker path.

Yeah... like even that system would stop the enabled and “entitled” criminals now. Just another waste of time, money and effort when you refuse to crack down on the real problem.... ie the crooks.

On the road to owning nothing and you WILL be happy you little pieces of dung.

Businesses will start throwing in the towel because they are losing their a**, and then we will beg government to save us.

Then come the human control pounds—you’re a stray in need of caring

You’re sick? Well you need euthanizing. Canada is already on it.

The rest? We will give you an allowance and you can get said amount of things online and that are approved and then delivered to your door.

Bathe on approved days, go to an outdoor park on your approved day, we will feed you a proper diet.

You will sit safely with your computer all day and with with complete supervision

Admittance to store by certified cell phone app only.

We may disable your cell phone for what we feel is just cause. Just cause includes shoplifting or vandalism. All cases to be further adjudicated by arbitration.

“Jeff Bezos is smiling.”

I’ve heard a truck driver say he would no longer drive in the NYC metro area because of hijacking.

True also when no bigwigs are involved. Some poor slob is standing in a checkout line. He barely has enough money to pay for his goods. And he sees other people just walking right out without paying.

If this poor slob has weak morals, maybe he’s thinking about not paying the next time too.

It is apparently worse than this in the UK. According to YouTuber ‘History Debunked’, police are no longer investigating home burglaries. Homeowners report the crime and are given a crime report number to file with their insurance and that’s it. All handled by phone.

Constables have their hands full investigating crimes committed against gay/trans flags being burnt in people’s back yards/gardens and social media posts that bother some people.

Burglary has long been a big problem in Britain.

I make sure that my plantings do not block views from other properties of my entrances.

Smart camera networks could be setup that could trace burglars back for many blocks.

Model 675JL might only be lawfully sold at John Lewis under UK law.

Ryobi 332HD might only be lawfully sold at Home Depot under US law.

Canon 123BB might only be lawfully sold at a big box retailer under US law.

If people try to sell certain models outside the system, they might considers felons under national law.
