DeSantis: Two-Tiered Justice System ‘Got Worse’ on Trump’s Watch
Breitbart ^ | July 31, 2023 | IAN HANCHETT

During an interview with the Fox News Channel aired on Monday’s broadcast of “Special Report,” 2024 Republican presidential candidate Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said that there are two standards of justice, and “Donald Trump was President for four years. This problem got worse under him. He did not succeed in draining the swamp.” DeSantis also predicted that Trump would have a “very difficult time getting the type of personnel to join the administration that you would need” to take down the administrative state.

DeSantis said, “Well, this is why we say there [are] two standards of justice. If Hunter were a Republican, he’d be in jail by now. You look at all of this smoke, and yet, the FBI, where [are] the search warrants? Where is the grand jury? Where’s the aggressiveness that they’ve shown going after some Republicans? You just don’t see it.”

He added that the treatment of former President Trump is another example of the two tiers of justice and stated that with the Mar-a-Lago raid, they “went through everything they could to get any piece of information. They are not doing that with Hunter. Of course, they didn’t do it with Hillary back in 2016. So, we look at that. But look at all of the possible corruption. Hunter, he’s selling paintings for over a million dollars. My six-year-old daughter does better paintings than him, maybe we’ll put ours up and see what kind of things she can fetch. I don’t think we’re going to get a million dollars on it. We will go in there and we will make all of this stuff better very, very quickly.”

DeSantis continued, “And, look, Donald Trump was President for four years. This problem got worse under him. He did not succeed in draining the swamp. My worst critics and

He claimed in his recent interview with Brett Baier, that he would have done better in 2018 without Trump...that Trump actually hurt him in 2018 with voters...as he squeaked by that win against Andrew Gillum by less than one percent.

"He doesn’t have to do anything because you’ll just blame rinos."

You act as if they weren't a problem during Trump's first term, and aren't a problem in the Senate even now. You can't pretend them away. They've been part of the problem, even before Trump was elected.

I bring DeSantis into this because of the title and content of the thread. Was that a trick question? LOL.

He needs to fire the guy giving him poll tested talking points. If there was anything every Repub should agree on it is this.

Matt Whitaker — the interim AG — could not serve as the real AG once his tenure expired.

Trump appointed him without even doing a decent interview (typical):

So are you a comedian, or an analyst?

Give us your opinion, did Trump drain the swamp, or is DeSantis right?

I personally know numbers of conservative, Christian women who normally would vote Republican, but want nothing to do with Trump. Across the country there are millions of them.

“He claimed ... that he would have done better in 2018 without Trump...that Trump actually hurt him in 2018”

As if ...

He can pull anything out of his ass, but that doesn’t make it true

I can claim that my life would’ve been better without certain people in it, but that doesn’t make it so. Sometimes problems in life simply are the result of a person’s own shortcomings and decisions.

Difficult to prove either way.

You have it all wrong. The 300 day periods don’t extend indefinitely. There’s only one 300-day period. After that, the interim appointee must step down and the office is vacant. That’s when the internal succession protocol kicks in for the department in question. The President then has 210 days to fill the vacancy while the deputy cabinet member serves in an acting role.

"You’ll be making excuses in 2028 for him still> I’m saying come up with a plan to work around the RINOs. I already gave one excellent plan. But my plan is not to make excuses and blame others."

I suspect that you have delusions of grandeur. You say that you gave Trump an excellent plan to work around the RINO so I have to ansk; are you a heavy hitter politician, a celebrity, or work closely with him on a campaign? If not then you might as well have sent President Trump you dick pics and a jar of urine.

Good lord.

No, he didn't. You made that completely up. He may have inferred that, but he actually said nothing of the sort.

What he said was, when he was investigating how he went from a 1% to a 20% victory in 2022, he found that the voters that SWITCHED their vote to him in 2022, had voted against him in 2018 because they didn't like Trump, and the two were closely associated in 2018.

Completely different than claiming he would have done better in 2018, as you claimed. He never even addressed that, directly, in anything he said. Thanks.

Can anyone say *Hillary Clinton* and *Hunter Biden*?

If it got worse under Trump, then why didn’t the democrats come along and fix it?

FWIW, I’m done with any thought of supporting DeSantis.

I would suggest there may not be a single member from Trump’s cabinet who would not have been a top pick for Ron DeSantis if HE had been elected President in 2016. The only exception might have been Dr. Ben Carson.

Rex Tillerson? James Mattis? Wilbur Ross? James Ocosta? Dan Coats?

LOL at this point.

And lest we forget, Jeff Sessions and especially, Elaine Chow?

You actually think those are picks that DeSantis would have made as well?

LOL again. Sorry. Nobody but Trump would have put idiots like that into such important positions of power. Exactly why he doesn't deserve a second chance.

We'll probably get his buddy Lindsey Graham at AG, for starters.

I’d be curious to know the basis of that assessment of the 2018 and 2022 governors elections in Florida. One thing that stood out to me was that there were 400,000 fewer ballots cast in 2022 even though the state supposedly saw a huge influx of new residents during and after the COVID fiasco.
