The fact is Nixon lost under dubious circumstances, conceded, then came back and won, that is a fact all the other rationalizations are just that
The fact also is that Nixon’s concession has not stopped the “dubious” (to use your polite terminology) side from being dubious many times since. They’ve just gotten more dubious and are happy with it working whether or not the (relatively) honest side concedes.
