Progressive insurance has been sued for 'patently unlawful' racism by offering $25,000 grants to help black-owned businesses buy vehicles — but barring white, Asian, Latino, and other entrepreneurs from applying.
The lawsuit was filed by the conservative group America First Legal (AFL) and others on behalf of Nathan Roberts, the owner of Ohio-based Freedom Truck Dispatch, who couldn't apply because he's white.
Progressive, which is known for its quirky adverts, did not answer DailyMail.com's requests for comment. They have said the grants were there to help black-owned firms that have historically struggled to access capital.
AFL lawyer Gene Hamilton said the case was part of a broader assault against big corporations that inject 'racial considerations into every aspect of their business operations, employment practices, and so much more.'
'Our client was denied a contract with Progressive that would have provided him with $25,000 toward the purchase of a new truck solely because of the amount of pigment in his skin,' Hamilton said in a statement.
Roberts is a hard-working 'small business owner fighting to create a better life for himself and his family,' added Hamilton.
As a holder of a Progressive commercial insurance policy, Roberts in May received an email about grants designed to help '10 black-owned businesses to buy a commercial vehicle.'
The suit says Roberts' race makes him ineligible for a grant, meaning he is 'suffering past and future injury in fact.'

But that’s only if it works all ways. They should be allowed to have whites-only product lines, I have no problem with them “red-lining” geographic areas to minimize coverage of properties in minority areas, etc.

Insurance is essentially a pooling of money to pay out to a few, kinda like socialism.

There are two funds. One is specifically targeted which somehow he feels entitled to apply for and the other is wide open, up to the same amount, and isn’t limited to ten grants.
Private businesses can incentivize in ways they feel best to serve their customers. Customers can act accordingly.
I would be more impressed if they got to the bottom line on “capital access” but that’s a can of worms. An education gap and self harming cultural values lead to poor decision making regarding money which leads to bad credit and leads to capital access problems.
From this point on, any self-loathing white liberal that confronts me gets a swift punch in the nose. I won’t even give it a second thought. I am so sick of this BS.
