In a speech to a Seattle crowd Wednesday, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm made the claim that lower oil imports improves U.S. energy security.
Praising Biden’s historic green energy funding and 100% clean electricity goal by 2035, Granholm said “With all this electrification, we could slash our net crude oil imports by almost 60%, and that strengthens energy security.”
Granholm, who appeared with Vice President Kamala Harris also said Harris "has been amazing inside the White House as the champion for clean energy."
One of the most common critiques of Biden’s green agenda is that it has thus far achieved the opposite of energy security. Regulators claimed in May that more than 66% of the country is vulnerable to summer blackouts because of “new environmental rules” cracking down on fossil fuels.

The lady is saying if the clean energy can replace 60 of our oil imports, it would be good for our energy security. No kidding captain obvious.
Granholm is 64 years old. Clean energy won’t create enough reliable energy to replace 60% of our oil imports in her lifetime. The Trump policy of harvesting the proven, clean technologies of the day is the only way to achieve energy security in the near term.

We are at the point where anything from the Obama / Biden Regime should be taken as “believe/do the opposite of what they say.”
We have thousands of years of hydrocarbons under our feet. We have only drilled a few miles into the Earth. Germany closed down their nuclear electricity production. Now they are drilling like mad for.......yes......COAL!
India produces at least 70% of their current electricity from coal. India recently announced that they are increasing their coal mining. They know that C02 is PLANT FOOD! They know that inexpensive, abundant energy equals more freedom. They are really making the Earth green.
France already produces 60-70% of its electricity from nuclear energy. France recently announced that they are building at least 15 more nuclear energy plants.
Not very long ago there was a mile of ice in what is now New York and Chicago. That great cold will return. All we can do is adapt.
Granholm and Harris are now both energy conversion engineers? They have quantitatively determined the energy needs of the advanced US economy, and determined green energy can meet these needs?
How about our economic competitors China and India? Are we planning to wreck our own economy and buy everything from their economies? This is just crazy talk! Analogous to economic self mutilation.
Where does she think electricity comes from? Fossil fuels (coal, natural gas, and petroleum) supply 60% of electricity generation In the USA.
