Sidney Powell, a one-time attorney for former President Trump’s 2020 campaign who helped promulgate false claims of election fraud, has pleaded not guilty in the Georgia election interference case.

Powell and 18 others including Trump are accused of joining a criminal conspiracy to keep Trump in power after he lost the 2020 presidential race by overturning the state’s election results. She faces seven charges, among them violating Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act — a charge designed to target organized crime of which all the defendants are accused.

The Trump lawyer’s other charges stem from a Coffee County election equipment breach. They include conspiracy to commit election fraud, a series of computer crimes and conspiracy to defraud the state, which is described as theft of data because voter data is “property which was under the control of Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

“a one-time attorney for former President Trump’s 2020 campaign”

What intellectual laziness. At least they could check to see if what they print is true or not.

Don’t you remember when Trump’s people said she was not part of his legal team and people were saying “wait, what?”

She had a separate funding site for her work and wasn’t paid by the Trump team.

Nor was she working for Trump. Parallel cases, but not employed by him.

I’m more wondering about where America went. The old America that used to exist. Long, long ago.

Like when you used to have free speech to question things.

Cue..... Buffalo Springfield (I hope Neil Young will remember......)

She's a good attorney and at least has guts to stand against the bad.

A lot of FReepers are just armchair demonstrators.

What was the crime, and who was impacted by the inquiry?

This has never been explained, only a parroting of some collection of anecdotes and gossip that “something” illegal must have happened.

We are not supposed to comment on the fact the emperor is wearing no clothes, someone might be much embarrassed.

“who helped promulgate false claims of election fraud, “

The claims weren’t false.

##I’m more wondering about where America went. The old America that used to exist. Long, long ago##

That America became too comfortable
Took God out
Let discipline slide
Let all kinds of nonsense prevail

The devil is having a hay day in that Godless vacuum

"A lot of FReepers are just armchair demonstrators."

And there seems to be a good chunk that are armchair cheerleaders for the travesty of injustice being done. Oh, they'll try to hide their glee, or outright deny its what their about, but become fairly apparent on a long enough timeline.

She was originally part of Trump’s legal team. He announced it himself.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8950261/Trumps-fab-five-president-names-legal-team-fight-election-courts.html

‘I look forward to Mayor Giuliani spearheading the legal effort to defend OUR RIGHT to FREE and FAIR ELECTIONS!’ Trump tweeted.

‘Rudy Giuliani, Joseph diGenova, Victoria Toensing, Sidney Powell, and Jenna Ellis, a truly great team, added to our other wonderful lawyers and representatives!’

The People of the Lie [Ella Lee is one example] can now lie with impunity and without accountability.

All "news" is false, and filled with lies, now.

It's better to not waste your time even reading or listening to it.

She was booted out.

Yes, booted FROM the team. Of which she was an original member. That’s what booted means. Trump also wanted to get her named as a special counsel, a little later, if you didn’t know.

Sydney Powell was fired by Trump in November 2020, yet is a co-conspirator. Why?

Trump was been surrounded by idiots his entire presidency. His Vice President, most of his personal staff, most of his cabinet and most of his lawyers. Trump has had more lawyers than Zsa Zsa Gabor has had husbands. Now, it’s Steven Sadow.

Roy Cohn, Michael Cohen, John Dowd, Jay Sekulow, Ty Cobb (not the baseball player), Marc Kosowitz, Sheri A. Dillon, Rudy Guiliani, Andrew Ekonomou, Joanna Hendol, Pat Cipollone, Jenna Ellis, Linda Kerns, Doug Collins, Jonathan Goldstein.

All of them losers! Did Trump overturn the election, or even get a hearing into his assertion that the election was rigged?

NOT COUNTING Jeff Sessions or Bill Barr.

A least Zsa Zsa got a big fat diamond ring for her marriages. With Trump, many of his lawyers have had to sue him to get paid.

Just a reminder. Sidney went to bat for General Flynn and was in the political cross hairs because of it. Going to bat for Trump was the last straw for deep staters...

The case of Sidney Powell is a curious one. During the Mike Flynn brouhaha, she seemed exceptionally competent and cautious. Although I will say, that case seems (IANAL) like it was 20 times simpler than Trumps and the affiliated stupidograms.

But as far as the Trump bogus vote matters, when she was in that pile of Giuliani, Lyn Wood and Mike Lindell, she seemed to get so far out ahead of her skis....In short, she bought her own bulls**t like nobody I have ever seen. I can only speculate, she was used to working as a lone wolf or lone wolfess and found herself in a high profile gaggle of people who all thought it grand fun they were onto the scandal of the millennium. And that is a very important lesson, for those watching from the stands.
