The Karen Platform is no way to win elections.

This is not about the good or bad of pot legalization. Federal taxes are collected in all states. This allows them to still collect the same from some states and then short them on the benefits therefore negating the justification for collecting the taxes in the first place.

Proper conduct in a civil society entails restraint to some degree, as well as personal responsibility. While there may be room for MJ use in life without fear of arrest, prosecution, and imprisonment, no one has a free pass to conduct resulting in injury or death to others.

One must never act while on the pot.   There shall be no dramatic flushes either.

He is a typical, modern, Republican: snatches defeat from the jaws of victory.

Do these idiots realize that when pot legalization is on the ballot, leftist turnout skyrockets? This ship has sailed and we shouldn’t try to bring this back into port.

Plus, it is a state’s rights issue just like abortion.

Not many potheads are smoking 20 joints a day.

The people I know who smoke weed pretty much smoke it constantly throughout the day.

The bill calls for withholding 10 percent of federal highway funds from areas that violate federal law under the Controlled Substances Act, which prohibits recreational marijuana and classifies it as a Schedule I drug.

One of the biggest blunders that Reagan made was signing a similar law to withhold highway funds unless states increased their drinking age to 21.

The 21-year old drinking age is a national embarrassment that has done far more harm than good.

Yeah. And lets bring back alcohol prohibition. That was a sterling success.

Illegal pot is now selling for as low as $3 per gram... Previous to legalization it typically sold for $10 per gram...

This stupefying to see.   Fifty years ago the purchase was sold by measuring how many fingers in a baggie.   We bought nickel bags or dime bags, five dollars or ten dollars.

Then again cigarettes back then in North Carolina and north Georgia were only a quarter a pack.

I am glad I left that behind me, for many reasons.

Pretty sure you know what I mean. Federal government collects taxes and through policy spends it. The government has a number of priorities they spend tax dollars on. They have ways of funding states through grands that come with strings (I.e, you can use the money for healthcare). They don’t have to allocate x dollars to NY and Y dollars to CA. They can pass laws to allocate x dollars towards infrastructure for drilling in Texas, as an example. That is my point. Thry have leeway in how the resources are allocated. Don’t blame me, blame the Supreme Court. That is how the system works. This policy is making use of the system and attaching more strings...sheesh...look how much typing to explain what you already knew I meant. I know Government doesn’t have their own money.

Typical GOP doofus.

If he was really worried about safety, he would propose a ban on sugar or alcohol.

If NC wants to restrict marijuana, then be my guest.

Every urban downtown stinks of pot - the stench of decay and decline.

And the “conservatives” cheering this on, or frightened to touch the issue and risk losing elections, are part of the West’s degeneracy.

Ditto to all that! Which leads me to wonder: from what is he trying to distract his base? Cooking up a sellout on some issue?
