McConnell: McCarthy doesn’t need my advice on impeachment
The Hill ^ | 09/12/2023 | ALEXANDER BOLTON

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) says he plans to give Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and House Republicans plenty of space to pursue an impeachment inquiry against President Biden, after saying last month that “impeachment ought to be rare” and “is not good for our country.”

Despite making clear his qualms about pursuing an impeachment inquiry against Biden without what many Senate Republicans would view as compelling evidence, the Senate GOP leader doesn’t want to get mixed up in the political food fight in the House.

McCarthy doesn’t need advice from McConnell because Mitch is barely literate at this point and McCarthy has already been told to back off or torpedo the whole process at some point. Nothing to see, move along.

The Swamp has rethought impeachment.

It is now seen as a way to avoid the GOPe making an active effort to stop Trump prosecution.

It is a way to get Trump off the front page and in that context the Swamp media will cooperate.

The whole Hunter Biden thing is zero importance. What is important is draining the Swamp and he’s an insignificant part of it.

I don’t care what they say, just because the Senate will not convict the ghoul, doesn’t mean the House should not impeach. The impeachment should be done full-bore before the American people to let them know just how dirty and corrupt Biden is along with whoever votes to exonerate him, be they democrat or Republican.

What a clever way to admit that the two are, and have been, on the same page all along!

A good point.

An impeachment proceeding would put the astonishing facts in front of low, and even no, info voters.

The "news" (ha ha) nets would need to provide coverage, some anyway.

McConnell (who flim-flammed his way out of his brief stay in the military during the Vietnam war) has no courage or visible conscience, while McCarthy has a chance to make positive history. (We'll see.)

On a side note I scrubbed Michael Knowles off my podcast list, twice last week he said he (paraphrasing) likes McConnell and is a good guy. McConnell is the RINO scum of the Earth and done more damage to this country in the last generation than anyone else.

At this point, why impeach? It will only hurt the conservatives in 2024. They can still do their investigations to expose the information. Biden does a good enough job hurting himself. Why get in the way? Impeachment would give Biden a bump in the polls.
