“if you think it is killing a baby then it has to be stopped at all levels.”
Does the Constitution grant the federal government the authority to ban or restrict abortion?
LOL, read the quote you just posted.
“Do you think that some states would be left alone to legalize murder and allow hitman clinics and paid leave to conduct those murders”
States have been free to do so since the signing of the Constitution; no state ever has.
“at FR, it is becoming a place of strong voices for abortion.”
Bearing false witness is a sin.
It doesn’t answer the question. Why won’t you answer the question?
It doesn’t answer the question. Why won’t you answer the question?
I’ll give Trump credit here. From a purely political point of view, he’s right. We are not a pro-life country and Trump understands the issue is a loser for Republicans.
Heed your own advice, it doesn’t apply to me.
We are running into more and more aggressive pro-abortion posts here, this thread has a lot of them.
Here is a pro-abortion post from another thread.
“Hey guys it was all worth it, even though all those latino and black babies will grow up to be democratic voters and put us white people into death camps but it was totally worth it for white people to be genocided!”
Your posts aren’t even making sense.
I’ve noted before over the years how Republicans get caught up in this and lose election after election. Maybe at the national level, they simply say it’s a state issue and work to get the federal government out of it in every respect. But they still have to deal with it on the local level. And as new candidates move up from local to national officers, they’ll have that history to defend.
Now these are political strategy discussions, insider pro-lifers trying to figure out the best way to defeat this horror.
A lot of the posters on this thread were revealing their pro-abortion positions and what they really thought abortion was, it wasn’t about strategy to get to a predetermined pro-life goal.
There are different aspects of the abortion issue, as is true of many issues.
There are people’s opinions of abortion, such as some saying abortion is murder. Then there is the politics of abortion. What should be done about abortion in the political system which we all live in?
How does one reconcile belief that abortion is murder, with the fact that abortion on demand is the law in the liberal states?
How does one reconcile belief that we are pro life, with the fact that we are out voted, so to speak, in this country, with many states allowing abortion without restriction, and even many fellow conservatives disagreeing on what time limit or other restrictions we should have.
I think many struggle with these issues. We can say we are pro life, but what do we say about abortion on demand still happening in much of the country?
And then some Freepers, say that these abortion restrictions after a certain number of weeks, such as six week abortion restrictions, are too liberal, because they still allow abortion prior to the time limit.
Should we work to change hearts and minds of people on the abortion issue, and not work for restrictive abortion laws in the states?
Is there any one answer?
I am talking about the Constitutional concept of States Rights and you’re tugging at heart strings, emotion, YOUR values and their imposition on others.
STATES, asserting their rights not delineated in the Constitution as Federal powers, are our only means of taking back power from this government. If you want these reproductive rights states to bend to your will then move your butt to one and vote against them, then.
Why is killing babies a special case? Killing people is a state issue not a federal issue except in special cases: examples a federal judge is killed or the killing is on a ship.
What FEDERAL law was overturned? Hmm? It was a Supreme Court decision.
You’ll pick up any rock, any stick, to use as a cudgel against President Trump, won’t you. No matter how lame or how illogical. You hate him that much. Disgusting for a supposed conservative to behave that way.
Wake up. I'm a Trump supporter. But I don't worship him.
How so? Isn’t that exactly what the reversal stated?
The Supreme Court giveth and the Supreme Court taketh away. States Rights are only what the Supremes say they are.
Are you hard of hearing? I'll repeat myself a little louder...
Red herring - doesn’t support your claim, “the reversal by SCOTUS of that decision [Roe v. Wade] begs to disagree [that it’s a state issue].”
That didn’t make any sense, heartstrings, emotions what are you talking about?
Trump supported abortion before he switched to the GOP. He’s figured out that banning abortion is not all that popular. Regulations are ok, but once they become so restrictive that they are controversial, that’s enough.
