The streaming companies may not own the rights to the film and have to pay licensing fees. They may have cloud-hosting fees on others' servers. There are also aggregators' fees and song royalties.
Much like broadcast television, the streaming providers end up offering the videos with the lowest fees which means reruns of such shows as "The Honeymooners".

Some of my favorite movies are older. You actually had to bring somethng with you to the movie besides the price of a ticket.
Hollywood panders to the least discerning and the MOST impressionable.

At about 7 pm, my wife has dinner about ready, and I try to find something on tv. Often we end up watching some old Brit while eating and discussing the day. mystery series until bedtime at about 9 pm.
