NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Military officials are working in coordination with the Federal Aviation Administration after an F-35 went missing following a "mishap" near North Charleston on Sunday, September 17.
"Based on the jet’s last-known position and in coordination with the FAA, we are focusing our attention north of JB Charleston, around Lake Moultrie and Lake Marion," Joint Base Charleston said via X, formerly known as Twitter.
According to Joint Base Charleston, the aircraft is a F-35B Lighting II jet from Marine Attack Training Squadron (VMFAT). It was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort. Both bases are working together to locate the aircraft.

Driverless cars, driverless trucks, yet a plane at a few hundred million a pop can’t find its way home. We are so screwed. America is obsolete in less than a hundrerd years. Pray for America.
Why can’t we lose a damn basic trainer aircraft instead...
Soooo...I guess it REALLY is invisible.
Stealth technology at its finest. Can’t be seen.
Something like that happened years ago in Montana whenan F-106 pilot ejected from an unrecoverable spin. After he bailed, the F-106 straightened up and flew gently into the ground where it was found, engine running, in a snow covered field. It was overhauled and flew again for several more years.
I think this F-35 is likely a smoking hole though.
Salute!
Search is imperfect....it only produces EXACT title matches.
FReegards!
Not believable at all with all the gov’t surveillance.
They need to talk to NSA.
I was in Charleston for a few days earlier this year and occasionally saw F-35s flying overhead.
There are no fighter planes that cost a “few hundred million.” The most expensive fighter ever is the raptor at around $160 million.
This plane here is around 70-80 million or so, way down from “a few hundred million”
Locked up flight controls? That’s one thing that would get a pilot to eject.

Only a government stooge would say that. Taking the total money spent, and not using fraudulent accounting, we taxpayers are into a the F-35 program by far more than a few hundred million a copy. The upgrade costs, alone, are far past $95 million a copy already. Of course, the Military Industrial Complex lies and claims those needed upgrades are “maintenance” and not procurement costs.
Was Wonder Woman flying it?
Well, since it’s a stealth aircraft, one would think that unless it had it ATC transponder on, that it would be very difficult to track.
But what I want to know is if the pilot had the ability to engage the autopilot, then there couldn’t have been THAT much of a problem with the aircraft.
Has anyone checked on with that perverted comedian midget?
