Once Biden resigns his faux position, we are still left with other liberals cheating their way Into office with the same or even worse policies.

Electric car mandates will cripple poor people living in the countryside where electricty often goes out for days. They won’t even be able to afford new ev’s to begin with. I suspect the left Wil. Work in some kind of exemption based on poverty level, but then the middle class who also, will be suffering will complain and rightly so.

As Trump said, everything the left touch turns to crap.

The Department of Energy (DOE) said the energy efficiency regulations would slash household utility costs by $1.5 billion on an annual basis while reducing greenhouse gas emissions

What a LIE!

Do they even put in gas furnaces in new construction anymore?

Yes.

Remember when (some) buses used to be plastered with stickers announcing that they were powered by “Clean Burning Natural Gas”? And yes, it’s all part of the warped, tyrannical vision they have for us.

They replace clean burning gas with horrible battery power and declare it clean. It is their march towards Communist tyranny.

If you are forced to upgrade or replace, it's not saving anything.
There used to be grandfather clauses to new rules, what happened to that?
New tech is good only if the paying customer can choose it after considering all pros and cons.

“Because of the stringent AFUE requirements, the regulations would largely take non-condensing gas furnaces — which are generally less efficient, but cheaper — off the market. But consumers who replace their non-condensing furnace with a condensing furnace after the rule is implemented face hefty installation costs.”

Our high efficiency condensing furnace condensate was routed in the A/C condensate line to the outside. The furnace unit is located in the attic.

The problem in the winter when the temperature is below freezing for several days the condensate will freeze on the ground and build up to plug the pipe.
Water will back up and trip a switch that shuts off the furnace.

Rerouted condensate pipe in attic to vent line of clothes washer.

People are starting to get mighty tired of this phony climate change BS and the ridiculous Biden mandates. Even Bill Gates realizes this.

The DOE is in the top three agencies I’d pick for liquidation.

Right behind DoED, FBI. And 20 right after that.

Yes. There is a new subdivision down the road from me that has all gas furnaces, stoves, water heaters and hookups for dryers. I live in an older home that has the same. In the past three years, I have replaced my gas water heater and furnace. The furnace was replaced when I replaced the central AC. (No heat pump.) Natural gas, even after increasing in price due to inflation, is dirt cheap in Pennsylvania. My hot water, dryer and stove costs less than $30 per month. That doubles or sometimes triples during winter depending on how cold it is.

When I replaced my furnace, I did not choose the most efficient furnace. It would take too long to breakeven through reduced gas costs. It was past the natural life of the furnace. Other people’s mileage may vary, but given the abundance of natural gas in our nation, it would make sense to have energy policies that promote drilling, fracking and pipeline construction to deliver natural gas to more businesses and consumers. Allow the market set the energy efficiency of furnaces and other appliances.

Any climate argument for something else is simply bull chit and not based on real science.

How much pollution does NatGas produce?

Very little. The same is true for a well tuned oil furnace.

As I have said before, only when this damnable administration has all of us back to living in caves will they be happy. Of course like Swabb says, “You will have nor own anything and be happy”.

Natural gas burns very clean. I have a gas cook top and water heater because I live in hurricane country. When we lose power, we never lose gas.

Electric heating is much less efficient than natural gas heating. More “green” idiocy.

Silly Texas resident, there lies the problem, when the power goes out you should be just as miserable as your 'green energy" friends, sheesh, misery likes company and you're just a big ole party pooper! LOL, I too have gas stove, gas furnace, gas water heater and when the power goes out, which isn't very often here, but, when it does go out I can still fire up my stove and cook!

Oh, please! Government departments ALWAYS promises us cost savings with their newest regulations, but these savings never, ever come to pass. Millions upon millions of people are STILL waiting on their $2500 in annual savings on their health care insurance thanks to Obamacare.

It is about time that someone put a stop to unconstitutional rules and laws that congress did not make. This evil is out of hand.
