ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) - WalletHub has named St. Louis the least safe city in America.

WalletHub compared 182 cities across three dimensions: 1) Home & Community Safety, 2) Natural-Disaster Risk, and 3) Financial Safety. They then evaluated the dimensions using 41 metrics graded on a 100-point scale, with 100 representing the highest level of safety. Among the metrics were assaults per capita, law-enforcement employees per capita, traffic fatalities per capita, earthquake risk level, unemployment rate, job security, and retirement plan access.

After the metrics were compiled, WalletHub ranked St. Louis 182nd with a score of 44.88. The city ranked 178th in home & community safety and 155th for financial safety.

St. Louis was tied for first with the most law enforcement employees per capita and ranked third fewest on hate crimes per capita. So far this year, the City of St. Louis has had around 20% fewer homicides compared to the same time last year.

That includes a hefty affirmative action adjustment no doubt.

Every filthy, dilapidated, drug-infested, crime-ridden, corrupt, bankrupt $shithole city in the US has been run by democrats for generations. And the morons that live there vote for more of the same. Every time.

It sounds like they are over-weighing the earthquake risk...

The mayor of the City of St. Louis, Tishaura Jones, is a Democrat.

Work-from-home continues to heavily damage big city economics.

This is killing these liberal enclaves, when their approach to crime and taxes is so grossly wrong.

I am elated these holes are hurting.

Beautiful baseball stadium. I stayed at a hotel after a day game. Room service only. Drove my rental car into East St. Louis. Not smart.

RE: Wow, more dangerous that Detroit?

If Detroit is not on top, it’s bad news. It means our cities have turned from bad to worse to worst.

A few years back I was leaving Bogarts Smokehouse in St Louis and a drunk panhandler jumped right in front of my van.

Hit the gas and the horn and the SOB defied me. Swerved at the last second doing 60.

Really good ribs tho! Highly recommended.

I was actually surprised by that. I can see old cops there just hanging on until retirement. But what young person would want to join the St. Louis police department?

And I just looked it up. Starting pay for a St. Louis cop is around $51,000. Not bad I guess, unless you’re working in a combat zone.
