I can't read any of these news stories. It horrifies me. The titles are enough. I can't even read this story. But I thought some of you might appreciate the courage (and the guns) that saved many.

It sounds very much like the movie “Exodus” when the inhabitants of the kibbutz had to take up positions to fend off the Arab attackers. A movie true, but very real for what it was like after Israel became a state.

Yes. And they were locked in the armory. She went against SOP and distributed the guns before she was told to do so.
Saved her group, but other groups were not so lucky.

I understand, what the people in Israel experienced is very painful to learn about. But you are right, armed citizens saved the lives of hundreds of other citizens, even when they sacrificed themselves.
That alone is a reason for every capable person to keep arms and ammunition in case they need to defend against criminals or terrorists.
Adar and Itai Berdichevsky saved their children, and probably dozens of other people by fighting back against the terrorists.

"She quickly realized that the sounds were different to those she's heard during the usual rocket attacks on the kibbutz and rushed to open the armory and distribute guns among the 12-member security team." Don't keep your guns in "armories"...learn from the Swiss.

Doesn’t a Moham-madman go straight to Hell to be reunited with Mohammad and al-Lah the moon god of the pagan Arabs if he is killed by a woman defending people he wanted to kill?

Better to ask forgiveness than permission.
In this case permission can’t be given to the deceased.

This woman was evidently the βsecurity coordinatorβ for the kibbutz. So she was able to open the local armory, and distribute weapons.
But what if she was absent that day? Or out in some field picking berries? Then I guess everyone in the kibbutz is dead.
This surprises me. I would have thought that Israel would require every adult citizen to have a weapon available. Or at least require every military veteran to have a weapon available. But I guess like most governments, Israel doesnβt really trust their citizens.
