Report: Donald Trump Not Expected to Support Steve Scalise in Speakership Race
Breitbart ^ | 10/12/2023 | WENDELL HUSEBØ

Former President Donald Trump is reportedly not expected to support House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) in the speakership race against House Judiciary Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH).

Trump, whose 2024 campaign Scalise did not endorse, is unlikely to help Scalise whip the votes to become speaker because “loyalty is a two-way street,” three sources close to the president told the Messenger on Wednesday.

One person “familiar with the former president’s thinking” explained it this way:

“Trump personally likes Steve. There’s no real animosity,” said one of the sources. “But the fact is, loyalty is a two-way street and Steve had a chance to support the president but he didn’t.”

“So if Trump has to work for it in Steve’s eyes, Steve is going to have to work for it in Trump’s eyes,” the source added.

Sounds fair. The GOPe snakes are hoping the Biden Regime DOJ can imprison President Trump and thereby save them from their own pissed off Republican voters.

To whom has Scalise promised Nancy's secret lair? GopE are self serving misfits. Always looking out for their principals.

Trump did endorse Jim Jordan and he got fewer votes than Steve Scalise if that indicates anything

What grosses me out is that the votes are confined to the members of this club. It’s like the people don’t get a say.

An NFL owner has the ultimate say on who the GM hires.

Think ‘advise and consent’ when hiring a speaker. Consent is the key word. Trump is the forerunner in the POTUS race hands down. The house members should be scared of him.

If the voters got to choose the senate minority/majority leader I’m convinced our side would pick Ted Cruz or Rand Paul.

I just read that Scalise is going to resign because he lacks the votes to be confirmed. He needs twenty more votes. Besides, he has multiple myeloma. How the heck does anyone expect him to be able to carry out the job?

Moderate Republicans and Democrats will elect the next Speaker.

Scalise went to Traitor Joe’s Inauguration with Donna Brazil while skipping Trump’s farewell speech. He is a deep state GOPe native just like Ryan and the rest of them. Trump is pulling his punches in my view.

LOL. Probably.

And we wouldn't likely pick Scalise for Speaker.

But that's my point: the House belongs to We the People; the Senate belongs (in theory) to the Several States. The Executive Branch needs to stay out of it. Like it or not, Donald Trump doesn't speak as a private citizen, he speaks as a (former) President.

I’m reading Scalise is going to step aside and its going to be Emmer or Hern. Scalise cannot get 217.

Scalise is dying of cancer. He's already had one close call. It's time for
him to spend his life with his family, and make his peace with the Lord.
