I use LED light bulbs in the 5,000k 21 watt range equivalent to 150 watt incandescence bulb or 18 watt for 100 watt equivalent.
They hardly give off any heat which is great for the summertime.
I can use two 21 watt bulbs in my floor lamps that I put a splitter in to light up my rooms.
The LED bulbs last. I have only had 2 stop working and 2 more start to dim over the several years I have been using them. I can them turn on and off and they keep working where as the incandescence bulbs would have burned out and with a big pop! in a few months.

R134a has been around since the mid 30’s, so it was not a “new” refrigerant (as many believed) when it was foisted upon US in the 90’s.
The primary driver was the knuckle-headed Europeans with their constant droning of environmentalism and saving the earf. Just like the all the changes in electrical, plumbing, and other “international codes” that ended up costing people more money to abide by.
To this day, HFO1234yf is still more expensive than R12 and has substantially increased the cost to the consumer in getting their vehicles serviced with this crap refrigerant.
R12 forever, if you can find and/or afford it.
Thankfully R12 is still pretty available at places like Craigslist. You used to be able to get it on eBay but that ended earlier this year due to a change in eBay policy.
Gotta be mindful of purity in those instances. I’d rather source mine from reputable outlets. Course, it doesn’t hurt to have a fairly reliable source. Funny thing, you can still purchase it from south of the border due to their third world status. Go figure.
I suppose the upside is we’re rapidly approaching third world status so R12 should be available and affordable before too long.
I never had any problems with R12 bought on eBay. I’d look for recharge cans in good condition from high volume sellers. I don’t know where those guys went when eBay changed its rules. Around here the local sellers on Craigslist mostly just have a few cans for sale, but I guess if you can inspect them first it should be relatively low risk.
