It appears he is an originalist.
He might not have put up with the shenanigans which happened in the 2020 elections. If he had been speaker of he House at that time, instead of Pelosi, we might be in a different timeline.

This phrase is an insidious lie. Questioning the validity, and wanting to investigate the obvious fraud, is not attempting to “overturn” an election. The phrase essentially asserts that the election was legitimate on its face, and that any questioning of it is therefore an attempt to “overturn” a valid result.
Didn’t take long, either.
The Texas amicus brief he and 100 other Republicans signed onto challenged the states’ election process. SCOTUS threw it out due to lack of legal standing.
