ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Former President George W. Bush, the former Rangers owner, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Texas plays the Arizona Diamondbacks in the World Series opener on Friday night.
This will be Bush’s fourth World Series ceremonial first pitch but his first before an opener.
Bush, 77. headed the group that bought the Rangers from Eddie Chiles in 1998 and was general partner through November 1994, when he stepped down as he prepared to become Texas governor.
Bush was U.S. president from 2001-09 and threw out the ceremonial first pitch before Game 3 of the 2001 World Series at Yankee Stadium between New York and Arizona. With heavy security following the 9-11 terrorist attacks, Bush wore a bullet-proof vest.

He’s about three weeks younger than Trump. Clinton is about two months younger than Trump. He either said January 6 was as bad as or worse than 9-11, which stunned me. He was President the day they were knocking down skyscrapers with planes. Thought he was more conservative than Dad but he seems to have just been another globalist, interventionist, free trade, Chamber of Commerce Republican.

Absolutely correct. A major reason why the Middle East is now in such turmoil is that Carter took out the Shah and Bush II took out Saddam.

The World Series was intended to settle the argument whether the best team in the American League was better than the best team in the National League. The first World Series in 1903 was a best of best of nine game series. A team with 90 wins will play a team with 84 wins while two teams that won over a hundred games each will stay home. Call it October Madness, but baseball is marathon, not a sprint. I don’t expect to watch much, if any, of MLB’s money making finale. Like much of modern America, it’s all fake.
