"Democrats briefly broke out into applause when the resolution failed."

I'll break into applause when that ugly piece of filth drops dead.

I totally agree with your statement. If there was some lesser position other than censure—then that could be voted upon. Something along the lines with the Congress as a whole disagrees with the statements by Congress-person So and So for the reasons X, Y and Z. Not a censure, but a rebuke.

That action focuses light on the critter’s statement for rebuke. It is more of a sense of the House...what would censure do anyway? Same as a rebuke. But it might be easier to rebuke a statement versus censure.

“I despise Tlaib and completely disagree with her position on Israel, but we either have free speech in this country or we don’t”

This isn’t a first amendment issue at all, censure is not expulsion or punishment, it is simply a formal statement of disagreement. It is responding to speech with speech.

I think MTG is generally an embarrassment and anchor on conservatives, but her resolution is fine. You can read it here:

I’m disappointed in Chip Roy.

I would have voted Y, but even if it had passed, it wouldn't do anything except invite media stories.

“Why is there a leadership position titled “Whip” when the person holding that job doesn’t do anything?”

Good question.

Someone should ask Tom Emmer (R-MN).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whip_(politics)

“A whip is an official of a political party whose task is to ensure party discipline in a legislature. This means ensuring that members of the party vote according to the party platform, rather than according to their own individual ideology or the will of their donors or constituents.”

unless I knew of some real crime she’d committed

Being as ugly as she is (inside and out) should count as a crime.

Yep. Let’s face it. We’re on our own. We have no voice and voters of the Repugnant Party keep putting the same trash into office cycle after cycle.

Good, none from my great state. (If one was, and barring a good alternative, I might have entered the race myself.)

And, why on earth did I somehow think that Issa was better than this?

How Islam progressively takes over countries By Mark Ellis

In Dr. Peter Hammond’s book, “Slavery, Terrorism and Islam,” he documents the way Muslims slowly develop a presence in various countries and as their population numbers build, become more aggressive and assertive about exercising Sharia law.

“Islam is not a religion, nor is it a cult. In its fullest form, it is a complete, total, 100% system of life,” Dr. Hammond notes in his book. “Islam has religious, legal, political, economic, social, and military components. The religious component is a beard for all of the other components.”

The last time a Squad member was up for censure (Ilhan Omar for saying Jews run the country with their Benjamins behind the scenes in DC) they held back a few days and then passed a resolution that could have come from a Miss America Pageant.

Instead of anti-semitism being condemned or Omar censured, they voted that all racist or anti semitic or anti-Muslim and other types of things shouldn’t happen. Even then it was a strain to get a vote for it.

One line:They said it unfairly attacked Omar when President Donald Trump and others have regularly espoused hateful rhetoric.

Another: “I voted ‘yes’ because I had to, but you should be embarrassed that Al Sharpton is not in there,” Grothman said, calling the civil rights activist “Mr. super anti-Semite in everything under the sun.”
