China has also been bringing coal fired power plants online at an astounding rate. They could care less about pollution. Well, they care enough to move it from the densely populated cities to the rural countryside. This is why they are pushing EV’s in their cities. Everyone has seen the intense polluted air photos they have in cities like Beijing.

Many companies and municipalities have converted entire divisions and fleets to Natural Gas (NG). UPS, FEDEX, etc. In 2016 FedEx established several hubs with NG as the fuel. NG was touted as the ‘clean’ hydrocarbon. Remember all those commercials ‘cooking with gas?’ We still today export large amounts of NG overseas. President Trump proved that inexpensive, abundant energy equals more freedom, and America was enjoying that freedom. Yet another reason they had to steal the election and limit our energy. DemocRATS cannot stand free people, free enterprise, and all the progress and joy that results.

CLEARLY the case, at least for the form of private transportation that we’re all used to - which is simply hopping in your car and buying fuel as you need it.
In the future, if there are private cars, they will be essentially limited to short, local, trips, as the numerous nightmare articles from people trying to use them on longer trips has shown.

There's other factors that have to be considered.
A typical tractor-trailer weighs around 80,000 pounds when fully loaded and approx. 35,000 when empty.
The size and weight of a battery pack is going to be massive considering the battery pack of a Hummer is around 2,800 pounds.
Generally, most over the road rigs will have either two 150 gal tanks or two 200 gal. tanks. That gives them a range from 600 to 800 miles. There's no way a tractor EV is going to even come close to that mileage.
Additionally, truckers can only drive 11 hours in a 24 hour period, which is around 715 miles at an average 65 MPH. There's no way they are going to want to waste that drive time at a truck stop waiting for their batteries to charge multiple times.
It should also be noted that a long haul driver will log between 100,000 - 110,000 miles a year so it’s unknown how long the batteries on a semi will last at that rate.
It is a feature, not a big.
It is about control.
It is not about saving the environment, saving energy, reducing the costs of travel, or any other ChiCom blather.
It is about control.
The fact that we aren't in lockstep with Communist China (not for lack of people trying to make the US a totalitarian country) is a positive thing, not something to be embarrassed about.
And you shouldn't be puzzled by it, either.
If this is about a more reliable, less polluting, or cost effective form of transportation, EVs would have arrived on their own, but it is none of those things, most especially not for Communist China. Here, the EV movement is backed by billions of taxpayer dollars we HAVE TO BORROW TO TURN INTO MONEY TO BE GIVEN TO EV MANUFACTURERS. And we are paying almost a Trillion Dollars in interest each year on that money we borrow to push the EV scam.
I know you are all in on EVs, and they may be fine for you. I understand you live in Vietnam, so your circumstances may be different. And that is okay.
But in a geographically large, industrialized country like the United States, putting the cart before the horse (the mandated use of EV before the energy infrastructure is in place) is idiocy of the highest degree. If it were idiocy alone, I wouldn't be alarmed, but unthinking Useful Idiots who fall in behind this and blindly support it are marching in lockstep with those who know damn well what it is all about, and it isn't about making YOUR life better.
It is about making THEIR lives better.
Apart from that, not only is the energy infrastructure not in place-it is not even being planned. That alone should tell you what a scam this is from the perspective of "green transportation".
Ask yourself: How many new Electrical Generation plants are either being built or being planned? Any Nuclear plants? Hydroelectric plants? Gas plants? Oil plants? Coal plants? I don't even include idiotic solar and wind in this discussion because they don't count. They are completely inept at generating useful power at a competitive price without massive government subsidies, and not enough to charge all the EV cars they want to force on us.
Doing this mandated switch from ICE to EV, apart from the totalitarian aspect, only means one thing-economics is going to come into play.
Economics is the allocation of scarce resources that have multiple uses. The scarce resource with multiple uses is electricity. How that finite resource (finite because there are no plans to increase nuclear/coal/oil energy generation facilities to keep up with the demand for this scarce resource.
So, like a battlefield, where the scarce resource is medics and medical care and a lot of wounded, economics is going to come into play and determine how those medics are allocated. It is cold. Expectant patients are denied treatment because it would be wasting a scarce resource with no return.
In this cold, deliberate economic calculus, personal freedom and readily available electricity will be expectant. Your business, which may not be regarded as essential, will fall into that category. We will get electricity whenever there is enough of it to be available. If there isn't, we will get brownouts and blackouts, and we will just have to get used to it.
Green Transportation in Communist China and Vietnam is Coal Powered Transportation.
People who don't consider how this is going to be done in anything less than a totalitarian way are ridiculed by certain people as obstructionist and old fashioned. Even by ostensible conservatives on this forum.
People who believe energy is produced by a ivory-colored plate on a wall with two vertical slots are the ones who should be ridiculed, and soundly. And when people advocate the mandatory implementation of this without a sound and robust plan to increase electricity generation and the infrastructure to carry that electricity to places where it can be used by people, they are demonstrating that they believe the source of electricity is a wall outlet in a house.

No kidding. Nor will the trucking companies. The drivers and companies want those assets productive, I.e., barreling down the road, not sitting idle. This is βcapacity factorβ β the amount of output compared to theoretical output.
It just occurred to me that the capacity factor is horrible for βgreen energyβ at BOTH ends β production and consumption of energy. The CF for windmills and solar cells is in the 20% to 30% range, thus necessitating you build TWO power plants (main and backup) whereas before,you built just one plant.
With the CF of the entire system being awful, what rational economic person would want it?

What about prepper minded people with solar panels that produce more power than their homes use on a monthly basis. There are a number of people on this very board who have EVs and large solarpower systems specifically because you cannot have an oil well plus refinery in your back 40 let alone a suburban back yard. But you can have a 15kw system on a large suburban homes roofline.
Seems like a good thing to have electricity that comes from the giant thermonuclear fireball in the sky not the grid. Gasoline can be much more easily controlled vs the distributed grid. Gasoline comes from a few refineries should the govt decide to limit its distribution or use they only have to stop the trucks at the dozen or so large refineries vs thousands and thousands of generation points across the grid. Forcing EVs is dumb and fascist. However for people who have multiple vehicles anyways having one that can go on a two hundred plus mile round trip that is not dependent on EPA approved fuel is freedom at is core. That means you have at least a 100 mile radius completely autonomous from anything the commies could do to the fuel supply.The Fed’s cannot turn off the Sun they can shut down refineries at will. Food for thought for preppers. It shouldn’t be automatically EV bad, EV bad they have specific use cases.
As commuter cars they are hard to beat on a total cost per mile basis either. The average person commutes less than 40 miles per day that’s only 10kwh in a model 3 sized EV per day or 200 kwh per month. If your job has level 2 chargers in the parking deck then you commute for the cost of operations/maintenance plus initial capital outlays vs depreciation. Your “fuel” is free or more accurately part of your total compensation package from your job. A model 3 charges at 11kw or 44 miles per hour from a L2 charger that means the avg commute is covered each way in a single hour in the morning at work. Drive home park over night and come back to the work charger never using your home power at all.
Cost of replacing dead EV batteries are ESCALATING rapidly!
