Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed that he has survived multiple Russian assassination attempts on his life and that there is an ongoing Kremlin plot to take him out before the end of the year.
Speaking with Britain’s largest circulation newspaper, The Sun, Zelensky said that there have been at least “five or six” assassination plots against him by Moscow since the Russian invasion of his country last year that have been foiled by Ukrainian intelligence services.
“The first one is very interesting, when it is the first time, and after that it is just like Covid. First of all people don’t know what to do with it and it’s looking very scary. And then after that, it is just intelligence sharing with you detail that one more group came to Ukraine to [attempt] this,” he told the paper.

I don’t know. Of all the things Zelensky says, this one statement might be close to the truth. Putin dares people to F-around and then “find out.”

LOL, no kidding. If anything, Russia needs him alive in order to be able to complete the disarming of NATO (as in NATO sending their weapons to be disposed of in Ukraine).
Em… he’s supposedly at war with Russia. We don’t expect them to try to take him out?

It only makes sense to assassinate a leader if they are an effective leader such that the next in line would be less competent. I don't see Z being someone the Russians would have any interest in taking out on that basis. I think the guy is getting more delusional at this point.
Maybe the next one will be successful.
Its ALSO possible Putin/Russia is purposely keeping him alive. Why? Maybe they fear someone far worse would take over? They don't want to bomb historic Kiev into rubble to get him? They want him to surrender to make it "official?" They want his own people or the USA to assassinate him to prove a point?
Its impossible to know.

Zelensky is so offensive to normal, decent people that the Russians want him to be the definition and example of "Ukrainian" for the world to see.

I wonder how many attempts have been made on Trump? I know of two. There were 75 on Lincoln in the Civil War—until one got him. I think Mr. Z needs to worry about a bullet from his own people at the moment.
