Joe Biden had only one event scheduled on Tuesday -- to discuss the "progress" his administration was making in regard to dealing with the massive fentanyl problem.
As we reported earlier, part of the fentanyl problem is because Biden has failed to secure the border. He also didn't seem to understand China's involvement in the whole fentanyl process, lifting sanctions on a blacklisted forensics lab in exchange for Xi saying they would do more to track the flow of chemicals for fentanyl. As Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX) said, that was a bit like "thanking the arsonist."
But Biden also made another huge gaffe that had the White House rushing to clean up. During his remarks about the drug, he said he was calling on Congress to make it a "Schedule 1 drug." Doing that would cause it to be unable to be used for the legitimate medical uses it is employed for now.
Fentanyl is currently a Schedule II drug which means it can be prescribed for legitimate medical use.
Advertisement Biden administration officials clarified to The Post that he was not actually calling for a ban on fentanyl, but for Congress to make permanent a 2018 emergency action that declared fentanyl-related substances as Schedule I drugs.
The administration aides insisted to The Post that the president didn’t misspeak when he called on Congress to make fentanyl a Schedule I drug because, they said, he was thinking about illicit street fentanyl, which may or may not contain fentanyl-related substances.
White House spokeswoman Kelly Scully said, “This is exactly what he intended to say. Today’s event is specifically about illicit fentanyl not medical fentanyl.”
Fentanyl-related substances have slightly different chemical compositions than fentanyl itself, which in the past allowed traffickers to avoid penalties.
"This is exactly what he intended to say" -- but didn't -- even though he was reading directly from notes. He still couldn't get it right. Nice try, guys, but we're not buying that one.
Once Biden was done with his fentanyl event, then he was off to the plane, bound for Nantucket, for still more days of vacation. He's staying again at billionaire private equity tycoon David Rubenstein's estate. He preaches about the billionaires and then does all he can to hang out at their estates on his vacations.
Advertisement Biden looks so old going up the steps to the plane, especially compared to Jill who has no problem going up and just leaves him in the dust.
His schedule for the vacation is basically empty. If you are just dialing in your job, and take 40 percent of the time on vacation, why would anyone retain you for that job?
The Red Chinese *own* The Big Guy. They know it...he knows it...the world knows it.
In a related matter, I expect Biden to push for an end to federal laws against cannabis. The Democrats will see that as a Get Out The Vote issue in 2024.

Decades ago, IIRC, Fentanyl was in use for pain management. Friend of mine with cancer in various places was on it.

Yes, it does have a legitimate use, when prescribed properly and in absolute measured dosages.
But the Mexican drug smugglers and Chinese mfrs don’t exactly follow FDA guidelines...............

After he screwed up the fentanyl event, Biden was was off on vacation, staying once again at billionaire tycoon David Rubenstein’s Nantucket estate. Useless Biden preaches to the working class about the ills of billionaires but regularly hangs out with them.
Biden’s “official vacation schedule” is basically empty, as usual. Question: When you just dial into your job, and take 40 percent of your work time on vacation, why would anyone retain you for that job?
It’s hard to be sure what,if anything,The Big Guy truly understands. But we can be damn damn sure that his puppet masters fully understand.

I remember some recent threads about this topic when some congressmen and senators were pushing this. Some freepers even agreed and then others pointed out that it was used both in hospitals and as a prescription drug especially for cancer patients. The problem isn’t CVS selling it but Juan selling it and other drugs polluted with it out of his trunk.
According to some sources the Afghan Taliban have greatly reduced or effectively ended opium cultivation. This has, in my opinion, led to a surge in Fentanyl deaths in the US. I haven’t seen any American sources talking about this. I’m not making any value judgements, just pointing this out as nobody here seems to be discussing it.

Fentanyl is the poor man’s heroin. It’s cheaper to make and waaaaay more powerful, so they don’t have to have a lot to make a lot..............................

HaHa...How true! But don’t include ME in that “everybody”. I wouldn’t touch that with a 49 1/2 foot pole!
The proof is the huge increase in fentanyl related deaths. Drug users must get their high. But they don’t want to actually die. But if the “safe” high isn’t available they’ll use the unsafe method. I listened to a former user who overdosed and his “buddies,” thinking he was dead, hid his body in a dumpster. He recovered hours later. He would have been killed if he’d been in the dumpster when the trash truck came. But the very next thing he did was get more drugs to get high again.
The Taliban used the drug money to fight the US. Now the US is gone so their religious convictions can take precedence. This is consistent with Islam which allows you to do or say anything as long as it is underpinned by your ultimate religious convictions.
