WASHINGTON — A Jan. 6 defendant whose attorney said was infected with "Foxmania" from watching too much Fox News pleaded guilty in connection with the attack on the U.S. Captiol.
Anthony Alexander Antonio, a 29-year-old who lives in Delaware, pleaded guilty to a felony count of obstruction of an official proceeding and aiding and abetting. The guilty plea came the same day the Supreme Court agreed to take up a challenge to the obstruction of an official proceeding charge.
At an early hearing in his case, Antonio's attorney Joseph Hurley said that Fox News “played constantly” in his home for six months.
“He became hooked with what I call ‘Foxitus’ or ‘Foxmania’ and became interested in the political aspect and started believing what was being fed to him," Hurley said.
In his agreed-upon statement of offense, Antonia admits that he yelled at police before joining the stand-off at the lower west tunnel of the Capitol, where some of the worst violence of Jan. 6 took place.
“You want war?” he shouted. “We got war. 1776 all over again.”
Antonio, in an interview with the FBI, later said that he did not help an officer when he should have. His sentencing range is 33 to 51 months in federal prison. U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson will sentence Antonio, who is now represented by attorney Robert Lee Jenkins, Jr., in August 2024.
More than 1,200 people have been charged in connection with the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol and hundreds more have been identified by online sleuths but not yet arrested.

Never forget that the “official proceeding” that was being “obstructed” was the certification of electoral votes derived from rampant vote fraud as though they were legitimate votes.
Yet code pink is never thrown in jail for years for obstructing SCOTUS nominee hearings.

That is BS. Fox hasn’t been on the right since they called AZ for Biden.
Everyone who's been convicted of anything...or plead guilty to anything...should demand a review of their case mentioning the thousands of hours of video that have very recently been revealed to be available. If that person is seen acting reasonably and respectfully on any tape he/she can shout "why didn't the prosecution hand that tape over to my lawyer?"
So, if I watch CNN and then go out and commit an act of political violence or shoplift a Home Depor or Walmart, I can blame CNN?

That is only partially correct; what was absolutely obstructed, were the legitimate challenges to the certification of electors that we all knew were scheduled and were going to occur. The senators and the house members that were lined up for these challenges was known well in advance of January 6th. It was going to happen.
The only thing that could derail that from taking place, was the House Emergency Rules, which conveniently came into effect as soon as there were reports of Bombs at the RNC/DNC HQs and the security breach at the Capitol.
Enter the Fedsurrection, problem solved.
They had to ensure that the election was no decided by the House, or Trump would have won there too.
I don’t understand why any of them would plead guilty no matter what deal or threats they made.
Fox is like the team that is always paid to lose to the Harlem Globetrotters.
