“ First time since 1860 that Democrats tried to keep the leading Republican candidate of the ballot.”

I think it highly likely that history could again “rhyme.”

If Trump is elected again next year, I believe - pretty strongly - that the Left (with the support of much of the federal bureaucracy and numerous states) will revolt violently. (For when it comes to actual violence, the Left has the patriot side beat hands-down). That is when a hot civil conflict will begin, that will be their casus belli. The outcome will probably depend on where the loyalty of the military and law enforcement resides (no certain thing). But in the end I think it will signal a breakup of states and regions, leading to a Balkanization of the continent with China taking full advantage.

How could a state supreme court possibly make that factual decision? Did I miss the trial and evidence?

This is a straight up insurrection.

I think Colorado is trying its darnedest to “out California” California. What a liberal hellhole that state has become.

Historic=ABC. Oy vey.

The word "historic" usually has a positive connotation, but Pearl Harbor was "a day that will live in infamy." I doubt this kangaroo court decision will really make history unless other courts follow this idiotic opinion.

The 14th amendment clearly defines Congress as the body that decides this.

States may control the manner of electing Electors, but they don't have 14th amendment authority to decide insurrectionist bans.

Even if Trump 100% did insurrection...he has yet to be convicted of it. Therefore, this is 100% illegal maneuver.

I would think the GOP of Colorado (assuming this is not overturned) could just put the names of the Republican electors on the ballot.

On the primary ballot (in WV, at least), the voter is asked to select any of several delegates to the convention. The delegates are identified by whom they support.

On the general election ballot (in WV, at least), the voter is asked to select a slate of electors. The electors are identified by whom they are pledged to support.

In WV, at least, we don't "vote for President". We vote for delegates or electors.

Your State may vary.

The one exception I take with the Trump campaign’s statement is that this is not a “flawed” decision, as if the Colorado Supreme Court simply made a mistake. Just as with every other outrage the Left is inflicting upon the country this is an INTENTIONAL and lawless act. These people, regardless of what pompous titles may follow their names, are nothing less than enemies of this country. I dare say we would be seeing little different from this if Xi Jinping himself were running the country, and had hand picked every one of the country’s “judges.”

We’re losing it all, and most even on our own side seem content to just watch it all burn down, apparently under the foolish assumption that actually fighting back might cause them to lose their comfortable existence. Well we’re losing that anyway! We’re no longer worthy of the sacrifices that were made, many paid in blood, to provide us with the freedom and prosperity that we have, until recent years at least, enjoyed. What is happening right in front of our faces right this moment is FAR worse than the events that precipitated the Revolutionary War. If we were worthy of our great inheritance, there would be millions of us in every despotic state capital and in D.C, forcing these tyrants to relinquish power or face the consequences. Unfortunately, even the self-proclaimed “patriots” have become corrupted and timid, made so by their attachment to material comforts. I’m sorry to say that we are just not even close to the same caliber of people who fought the most powerful empire on Earth, and then endured endless hardships to settle a continent.

We deserve what we get.

These people really are insane. They have zero perspective or self awareness.

They actuallly found that Trump intended for his speech to lead to violence.

A political speech in which he told people to protest “peacefully”.

Good thing there are no “Democrat judges” /s

"When someone you’d like to vote for isn’t on the ballot, what do you do?

Write him in!"

The problem with that, in this situation, is that they would simply toss that ballot as void. If they can do this, they could do that as well. Good way to get a super-majority (D) throughout the entire state of CO.

Now, if we have even a semblance of law and order in this country, the Supreme Court will toss this illegal attempt to keep a sitting president's leading political rival off the ballot and they'll do so in a way so as to prevent any other such attempts.
