Earlier this week, the Colorado State Supreme Court determined in a 4-3 ruling that Trump is ineligible under the 14th Amendment to appear on the ballot in the state. This nonsensical ruling essentially declares that even though Trump has never been convicted of, much less tried with sedition or participating in an insurrection, he is nevertheless guilty of such. The ruling is bound to be taken up by the Supreme Court, and experts on both sides of the aisle believe it will be promptly overturned.
But that doesn't change the fact that four justices in the highest court in the state of Colorado voted so egregiously. But there's something that might explain why.

Three of the four justices who voted against Trump were Ivy League graduates.
"The four Democratic-appointed justices who ruled to nix Trump from the primary ballot included three Ivy League graduates, showing a stark divide between the legal mindsets of those who were educated at elite institutions compared to the three justices who said they would not remove the Republican front-runner from the state's ballot," reports the Washington Examiner.

As for the justices who voted to boot Trump from the ballot, Justice Monica Marquez not only got her law degree from Yale, but is the first Latina and openly LGBT justice to serve on the court. "She also worked as an assistant solicitor general and as assistant attorney general in both the Public Officials Unit and Criminal Appellate Section before she was appointed to the state's high court in 2010," explains the Washington Examiner. "The justice is also a member of the Bench Dream Team, which is a group of judges in the Colorado judicial system that promotes diversity and inclusion."

These four judges just committed an act of insurgency by running a coup against someone who isn’t even in office.

I've heard some people say there was a trial in Colorado. Others say there was no trial, and no charges. Others say (correctly, I think) that the Senate tried Trump for insurrection and did acquit him. So anything in Colorado becomes Double Jeopardy.
I can't tell exactly what is what. But it seems like the "justice" system is broken and anything goes today.

As the old saying goes, “those who live by the sword, die by the sword”. Likewise, those who live by lawfare, shall die by lawfare. I wonder how many of these four will be judges in two years time.
That is EXACTLY the point I think needs to be made in the public area/ media!! The insurrection and treason lies squarely with the Left when they conspired to steal the 2020 election, thwart investigation of the facts, and conducted a widespread campaign of misinformation and cover-up.
If one did something heinous, like Judge Alcee Hastings did back in the day -taking bribes - one would be both impeached AND tried in criminal court.
They are totally independent processes, with different purposes. Double jepoardy doesn't apply. Clinton was impeached, tried in the Senate, And got off, but then still found guilty of lying in a Federal Court proceeding and fined $85000. His "not guilty" verdict in the impeachment trial didn't shelter him from the criminal case against him.

Why don’t Republicans in CO go to THEIR HOUSES and protest and threaten them like the left did to SCOTUS members after Roe was overturned?
I would bet the DOJ would be there in a heartbeat.
State Police under Polis’ orders would have them locked up as they got out of their cars. Then handed over to the state AG for prosecution, conviction and sentencing.
And then they’d have to appeal to these 7 judges.

Now do the three justices that dissented. They’re Libs, too, but they at least have a modicum of respect for the Constitution.
Having most of the judges from the Ivy League is not diversity but they are too stupid to know that.
