The nightmare scenario we are now facing
americanthinker.com ^ | 12/29/2023 | Timothy Jankowski

Not since Gavrilo Princips assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand in 1914 has the politically-motivated action of a single individual threatened to plunge an entire nation into strife and crisis like the decision by Maine’s Democrat Secretary of State, Shenna Bellows, to keep Donald Trump off of the state’s primary ballot.

Does that sound like hyperbole? Allow me to explain.

Donald Trump’s path to re-election in 2024 is simple: Hold the red states that he won in 2020, which he should do with ease, and win back the swing states of Wisconsin, Arizona, and Georgia. That outcome would result with him receiving 270 electoral votes, the exact margin needed to regain the presidency.

The push to remove Trump from state ballots is largely irrelevant. He’s not going to be removed from any red state ballots and there are no signs he will be removed from the aforementioned swing states. Even if every blue state were to keep him off the ballot, the scenario laid out above would remain not just possible, but likely… with one exception: the state of Maine. Unlike most states which apportion their electoral votes on a winner-take-all basis, Maine divides its four electoral votes by Congressional districts; in 2020 Biden won three, while Trump managed to win one from the more rural, conservative region of the state.

Now let’s assume that the election plays out in the highly likely possible manner as suggested, with the caveat that Trump is not on the ballot in Maine. This means he will lose one of the votes he held in 2020 bringing his electoral vote count to 269, one vote short of the number needed to win. The result will be an electoral college tie meaning the election will be thrown to the House of Representatives to decide.

Perhaps. But one twist on this effort is for Dems to remove Trump at the local level.

Yep. It’s illegal.

That doesn’t matter - what matters is denying a means for casting a vote for Trump at the ballot box on Election Day (when and where most Republicans vote).

It’ll get tied up in courts way past Jan 20, 2025 and then it won’t matter.

In theory, a problem with this approach is that Trump’s name will still be on mail-in ballots.

But that may be the idea - force Trump supporters like cattle to the slaughter to use the mail-in process.

“The Democrats will resort to maximum pressure including violence (they always do) knowing that, whatever happens, no one will prosecute them. Cities will burn and Republican House members in blue states will have their lives threatened—just ask Steve Scalise and Brett Kavanaugh about that.
All the while you can expect the media to make excuses for the rioters while pushing the narrative that Trump should not be made president again. The Democrat mob will dox electors and congressmen at the drop of a hat if they think those people can be intimidated into changing their votes, and will wave away any violence that might take place in the effort to intimidate people who still believe in the rule of law.”

At this point.........there are as many “what ifs” that could occur electorally in the 2024 election as there are leaves on the trees.

Everyone on our side should just keep on keeping on....legally. Steady as she goes and Trump will win.

Judging from the erudite comments critiquing Bellows for dumping Trump,
on themainewire.com, I’d say she is working the wrong side of the street.

@the watcher posted on themainewire

Bellows action is a direct violation of the equal protection clause of the 14th amendment. As a state officer, she is required to carry a surety bond, and she personally can be sued for this violation.

The insurance company that issues this bond is likely to tell her that she is on her own as she has made this ruling not on a due process court ruling, but that of her own volition.

Any town officer that violates the rights of the citizens can face the same reprisal.

Is this ballot thingy stage one in the 2024 Biden election steal?

Psycho Maine Secretary of State Says No Ballots will be Printed
Until Supreme Court Rules on Trump Eligibility –
Suggests There Won’t be Enough Time to Put Him on Ballot (VIDEO)

Bellows appeared on Regime friendly outlets like MSNBC and CNN after she unilaterally barred Trump from the ballot.

Shenna Bellows told CNN that she suspended the effect of her decision to disqualify Trump from the ballot until the Supreme Court can act. She also suggested there may not be enough time to put Trump on the ballot.

“We’re looking at a very tight time frame,” Bellows said

CNN host: We are waiting to see if the Supreme Court will, in fact, take up this Colorado case. I know you mentioned the Colorado case in your decision. When you look at where things stand, there is a question. Our own senior legal analyst bringing this up, he doesn’t believe that if the Supreme Court takes this up that they will in fact rule on what engaging in an insurrection means, whether there needs to be criminality with it, if they do not, are you concerned about the fallout?

Shenna Bellows: I will always implement what the court decides, and this type of proceeding is not unusual. As part of my duties in Maine, under Maine election law in 2022, for example, I held a similar hearing on the qualifications of a district attorney candidate, found him unqualified. That was appealed. The court upheld my ruling. I mentioned Mr. Chris Christie just last week, a superior court finding that I had made the right decision in barring him from the ballot under Maine law.

I assume Milwaukee is off limits. What about Atlanta or Phoenix? Not looking good.

What they are forgetting is that the House decides which state certifications to accept fir the electoral college vote. The Republican controlled House will not count EC votes of Democrat run states that excluded the Republican candidate from the ballot for obviously partisan advantage.

So it wouldn’t be a race to 270, but rather to something less.

As the states realize this, they will quietly drop these silly threats - which are really only publicity stunts designed to damage Trump’s public approval numbers by constantly associating him with criminal allegations.

The same with the bogus indictments - none of them will hold up under the appeal process - but then that’s not their purpose. Their purpose is to drain, distract and tarnish his name.

It’s not working.
