Ron DeSantis plans to make last minute pitch on Iowa debate stage, calls on Trump to join

DES MOINES, Iowa — There's less than three weeks until the Iowa caucuses, and GOP presidential candidates are blitzing through Iowa.

Recently, Ron DeSantis made multiple stops across the state and brought along some Iowa leaders who have endorsed him. So far, DeSantis has completed a 99-county tour, also known as a full Grassley, and has made more than 154 stops across Iowa.

His campaign tells Iowa's News Now he's garnered support from more than 30,000 Iowans who plan to caucus for him. They have more than 1,000 caucus captains who will be speaking in favor of him at precincts on caucus night.

January 10th, DeSantis will be on the CNN debate stage in Iowa which is being held at Drake University. He hopes his message will resonate with younger voters.

We also have a very good message about reversing the trajectory of the country so young people can get ahead," DeSantis told Iowa's News Now. "Cause right now it's prohibitive to be able to afford a home, to be able to raise a family. We can't succeed as a country if people, young people that are working hard aren't able to get ahead. So we will fix that when I'm president.

DeSantis is still calling on frontrunner Donald Trump to participate in the debate. However, Trump is unlikely to attend since he hasn't participated in a single debate.

You are right. Trump puts America first and tells the truth as he sees it. You know where he stand. DeSantis is a completely different animal.

He isn’t too bright. Obviously he counted way too much on the debate stage.

Trump is his own man, which is exactly why he is feared and hated by the establishment. RonD has listened to the wrong people (like Trump did in his first admin), and still hasn’t figured out that what they are pushing is not what the people want. Ron needs to do a mea culpa and begin the process of reinventing himself if he intends to continue in politics.

“But I’m not a delusional cult member.”

I award your CNN brainwashed mindset with Tucker Carlson’s description of DeSantis supporters online:

“The people who represent him online are the nastiest, the stupidest, and the most zero-sum people I’ve ever seen in my life.”

Rush never claimed to be 100% correct, and that was long before DeSantis betrayed Trump.

Also, in his final printed release, Rush praised and thanked Trump.

So there.

If DeSantis finishes third, he should fold up his tent in his endorsements and big money donors campaign. If he can’t beat Haley...

“He should say he’ll be there and have a chair for Trump. Then ask the empty chair a lot of why questions.”

That would be like DeSantis challenging Mike Tyson to a fight, and when Tyson did not show up, DeSantis would crow about Tyson being too afraid to fight with him.

You just pointed out what is the problem with DeSantis. Acting like Trump is a plus. DeSantis acts like Jeb instead.

Proof that acting like Jeb and being like a Bush is bad juju.

“When Trump gets his ass kicked again in the general election...”

So you are one of the few people left stupid enough to think that Biden got more votes than Trump.

Problem Ron has is that nobody would watch and if they did they would choose the empty chair.

Why would they blame DeSantis? He is a loser. Trump will only lose again by RAT cheating and everyone knows it. Well you do, but you won’t admit it.

If DeSantis is frustrated, angry and wondering how it all went wrong, he just has to look in the mirror. He let Karl Rove and the Trump hating Bush family persuade him to challenge Trump for the nomination and to speak ill of Trump. DeSantis was the successful Republican governor of a well managed state. If he remained in Florida, tolerated Trump’s eccentrics, there is little doubt he would have been the VP candidate in 2024 and probably elected President in 2028. Instead his political career is now largely ruined.

You nailed it. I believe that the specter of Kari Lake allowed the Bushes to gain DeSantis's ear. Up to that point, he had various consultant scum whispering in his ear not to wait until 2028, but he looked around at the likes of Nimrata and Obama's fat slob girlfriend Christie, and saw no one who would get any momentum out of 2024 and no one on the horizon in the aftermath of the election. He could just continue being America's best governor and build his political capital.

But along came this loud and attractive Kari Lake who looked a sure thing to win in Arizona—okay, she did win, but was cheated—and that would make her formidable in '28. Suddenly, waiting didn't seem like such a good idea and those whispers got louder, stronger and now were heard clearly by DeSantis and, of course, his wife who clearly heard the whispers from the start. By the time, Lake was stopped in Arizona, it was too late. The Bushes saw their opening and pounced. DeSantis will never be the designated GOPe loser that Jeb was prepared to be and that Nimrata and the NJ Blimp are, but the Bush crowd knows how to neutralize good candidates and really knows how to get the money flying around from GOPe donors to GOPe consultants through the RNC so they all get their beaks wet. $150 million for Jeb to get three delegates in 2016 was perfection for the GOPe parasite class and they saw in DeSantis another bonanza plus eliminating this upstart conservative before he could go any further. It's a shame.

For any Republican with a spine and a brain, 2024 should be about resolving - once and for all - the questions of the stolen 2020 election and the January 6th Fedsurrection.

The Republic cannot survive if a Presidential election can be stolen and nothing is done about it, and that is exactly what happened in 2020. The Republic cannot survive if our Justice System can be weaponized against anyone challenging the certification of a stolen election - and that is exactly what is happening.

Of course, the world is on the brink of WWIII and Great Depression II, and policy issues are of utmost concern when choosing the next POTUS. However, first we must answer the question of whether we still have a Republic.

Either the 2020 election was stolen or it wasn’t - and that debate has never been allowed in the public square. The evidence has never been allowed to be presented. The arguments have been censored and cancelled. Those alleging fraud have even been indicted or imprisoned.

Let the 2024 election be the platform for that debate - if you believe 2020 was stolen, then vote for President Trump to finally serve the second term that he already won in 2020. If not, vote for someone else.

If President Trump wins again in 2024, that will be the American people rendering their verdict that 2020 was stolen. Then, let all those who stole it and lied about it face trial and punishment.

Ron DeSantis - Nikki Haley - Chris Christie - STOP! You are wasting our time. You are be-clowning yourselves. You are showing that you have no idea what is at stake here.

Either that, or you really are playing for the other side - and if that’s the case, you’ll be among the thieves and liars facing punishment when all this gets sorted out.

Oh, absolutely they will. Out of one side of their mouths they'll say that DeSantis and his supporters poisoned the well while out of the other side, they'll say Trump was a victim of vote fraud and that he really won.
