Swedes have been warned to brace for the possibility of war in the wake of their country's anticipated NATO membership in 2024 and the backdrop of Russia's conflict in Ukraine.
Speaking at the Folk och Forsvar conference in Salen, Civil Defence Minister Carl-Oskar Bohlin stressed the urgency of enhancing Sweden's resilience, citing concerns over the sluggish modernisation of the civil defence system. Mr Bohlin urged a collective effort from all segments of society, emphasising the need for swift action.
"Many have said it before me, but let me say it with the force of my office - there could be a war in Sweden," said Mr Bohlin,
Drawing parallels with Ukraine, which is facing a full-scale Russian invasion, Mr Bohlin commended their "total resilience" and stressed that a similar effort in Sweden requires widespread awareness and understanding of the situation.

There’s going to be war in Sweden?
War in Sweden?! With whom?! If the Soviet Union left them alone for seventy years, why would Russia want to start something now?!
Does Saab still make jet aircraft?!
I think so, eventually. But it won’t involve the Russians. It will involve these guys.
Just like the propaganda in the USA: ignore the planned invasion of illegals and Muslims, destruction of your culture, and neo-marxist economic chaos - RUZZZIA will come and get you!
Just let me know if Victoria Nuland is over there passing out cookies
I like how the defensive organization is provoking wars all over Europe for no reason. nobody would expect such a brilliant defense strategy!
Sweden was always a member of NATO in all but name*. The assumption was that in case of Soviet invasion of Western Europe, Sweden would be drawn in, because the Soviets would have viewed them as a threat to Leningrad, and their only ice-free port with access to the Atlantic.
When Putin and Soviet Politicians started rattling their nuclear sabers at Finland and Sweden at the start of the invasion of Ukraine, they stampeded both countries into formal alliance with NATO.
*I know interoperability, shared encryption, and standardization will actually happen. When Nato IFF interrogators ping Swedish warplanes, they can respond “Friend”, which they could not previously.
I think he’s referring to Gotland, an Iland owned by Sweden. The war gaming involves Russia seizing this island which would give them control over the Baltic Sea, which has recently turned into a NATO lake. The war games assume Russia seizes this island and installs air defense and anti-ship missiles. It would be very difficult to retake. Sweden mostly demilitarized the island as part of the “peace dividend” when the Soviet Union disintegrated. I suspect he wants to remilitarize it, which the Russians may consider a provocation. If that’s the plan Sweden had better be quick and decisive about it. I think they aren’t, which is why he went public, to force the issue.
My BOFORS gun is bigger then the one they sold you!
“I suspect he wants to remilitarize it, which the Russians may consider a provocation.”
That’s ironic: Russia has armed Kaliningrad to the teeth. Kaliningrad has significant systems deployed within its relatively small size, including S-300 and S-400 missiles, Oniks anti-ship missiles, and Iskander surface-to-surface missiles. And they’ve been deployed there for years.
According to the Zeepers here, Russia has lost the war in Ukraine, so how would they attack Sweden when their army has been destroyed? Can’t have it both ways, lol.
Sweden VS UK nightclubs. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=m-J9ZpQYW8s
If any of them need to escape the looming war, I will gladly open my home to them
I believe they make very good jet aircraft.
Apparently they think they can. Lol
But according to the Russian stooges here, Russia has already won
so which is it?
“Does Saab still make jet aircraft?!”
Perhaps, but also...
Saab is what you do when you get your repair bill from the auto mechanic...
It’s just one Saab story after another.
