Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) and President Biden discussed immigration in a phone call Wednesday, a rare conversation between the two leaders as Congress works through negotiations on border policy.
Raj Shah, a spokesperson for Johnson, said the Speaker “strongly encouraged the President to use his executive authority to secure the southern border and reiterated the contents of his letter to the President dated December 21, 2023.”

Johnson asked to meet with Biden. Biden said no. That’s a good sign. It means Biden is intimidated by him....and I’m betting more Dems are agreeing with Johnson...it has to be done...pass H.R.2.

This is complete bullcrap. The Biden faction has it open deliberately. You cannot find a middle way and come to an agreement. That only works when you both share common end goals, such as the well-being of the country. All of the Democrats want open borders, and about 70% of Republicans do because their donors want that.
So this is a PR stunt to try to appease the majority of normal Americans who want it closed.
He then promised the rest of us he would be sending a “sternly worded letter” to the Demented in Chief....
The only language the enemy understands is money. And our side keeps giving him money as we complain about the border. So they quite naturally, ignore the complaints because they do not have consequences.
Executive authority? This implies that all of the laws passed by congress are meaningless if the "executive" does not want to enforcement them.
He should have informed the "executive", "Enforce the laws on the books or be removed." The GOP is a joke.
