Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie dropped his Republican presidential bid on Wednesday night, but before he made his announcement, a microphone picked up disparaging comments he made about his GOP rivals.
During the apparent hot mic moment, Christie could be heard saying Florida Governor Ron DeSantis had called him. According to Christie, DeSantis was "petrified." The Associated Press said Christie could have been saying DeSantis was worried he would endorse former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley.
About Haley, Christie said she is "going to get smoked," and that "she's not up to this."
Newsweek reached out to Christie's campaign via email on Wednesday night for comment.
Christie, 61, was perhaps the most vocal critic of former President Donald Trump in the race for the GOP nomination. He not only said Trump would lose if he were in a rematch against President Joe Biden, but he also warned the former president could be behind bars come Election Day due to the criminal charges he's currently facing.
Before he announced the end of his presidential run at a town hall in Windham, New Hampshire, Christie had fallen well behind the other contenders in the polls, though, while Haley has been seemingly gaining momentum among Republican voters. However, Trump remains the clear frontrunner in his party.

Really stupid of the slob.
2nd Rule of Politics: Always assume EVERY microphone is on and connected to a recorder and a broadcast outlet.
1st Rule of Politics: Wipe your fingerprints and dna from every one of your crime scenes. After spraying surveillance cameras with mineral oil or paint. Use only burner phones.
The current democrat thinking is that trump will lose in general. I do agree on this point. Democrats know how to brin g national resources to local elections. that includes illegals. I used to think that no republican stood a chance in november because of the huge democrat machine moving illegals into government services and then getting them registered to vote and then harvesting their ballots.
I thought democrat machine created an unbreachable wall for the republicans. imho it still does in many state and local races around the USA. because the pubs are not at all up to this gamesmanship. So state and local elections will resemble the blah results of 2021 2022 and 2023.
However, the national election are now a contest between biden’s illegal alien vote and the red pilled democrats who wouldn’t vote republican but would vote for now three or four independent party candidates. There’s going to be a lot them.
I ain't crazy,,,,
That donut eater was only in so he could b!tch talk Trump, cause he’s butt hurt Trump bounced him like a bad penny
Goodbye loser !
“During the apparent hot mic moment, Christie could be heard saying . . .”
Apparent they say.
More likely an orchestrated stunt to get Christie into another news cycle, yet again saying really bad things about Republicans but this time candid so they must be believed and reported.
This was an intentional burn it all down as you exit stage left moment.
sure Chris ... Ron called you ... LOL!!
Christie, running to gets some cash from his loyal (dumb) supporters, makes an awkward departure from a race that he had ZERO% chance of winning.
As he departs, let us remember the good things that he has accomplished in his political life.
OK, that was a hard question.....the answer is NOTHING!
The fat slob could not take care of himself, let alone, a State or a Nation!
I bid him a, “good bye, fat a$$, don’t trip over that lard above and below your belt!”
Yo u notice, if you listened to both the ‘I’m quitting’ speech and the ‘Hot Mic’ episode that Kris Krispie badmouthed ONLY Republicans. He didn’t say a word against 0’Biden or any Democrat.. But between the two verbal vomitings he managed to call every Republican (or non- Republican Trump supporter), be they politician or peasant, Stupid, and/or a liar and/or a coward.
