If the purpose is a peaceful resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict... think again. If the purpose is perpetual war with the ultimate genocide of either or both groups, then they are spot on.

For many European politicians, they likely see this as a “solution” to the problem.
It’s in reality a form of appeasement which will guaranteed not work. The desired outcome (greater stability and peace) will not happen.
The Europeans in particular, still do not want to believe / accept what is actually happening.
This is a war of civilizations and in a conflict if you don’t want to accept or believe that the other guy wants to punch you in the nose, you simply get punched in the nose in ignorance. Your denial or disbelief won’t change the other persons motive and MO.
Islam is simply incompatible with liberal (classic meaning) Western society. It does not work with our form of law, democracy, and our ideas of individual rights.
We keep running into the same issue over and over and the real problem isn’t even Islam and the Muslims. Their doctrine is publicly available in every language online for free (read the Koran and what to do with non believers). Their leaders both political and religious do not hide what agenda they support. There are opinion polls by Western and somewhat objective organizations which tell you clearly what many of these people believe. The history of Islam and how it conquers and converts by force is well written about even if we try to blame ourselves. The real face of Islam is apparent everywhere it takes control even today may that be in Lebanon, Sudan, Egypt, Niger...

In a Western secular mind, the idea of a society being organized around religion is incomprehensible. But that is what you have in Islam. Their law is Sharia. Their food is defined by the rules of Halal. Their dress, sexual relations, language, business, even form of government and an individuals rights are all defined by their religion.
In the West where diversity, inclusion and equality have become pseudo-moralistic battle cries, it is very hard to use derogatory ideas to define or deal with another religion, even if it is this one single religion which cannot seem to get along with anyone else, may that be Hindu, Zoroastrians, Bahia, Buddhists, Christians, Shinto, or Jews. The Church teaches that God had the Romans destroy Jerusalem in A.D. 70 as retribution for the Jews' rejection of Jesus. So I wouldn't assume that God necessarily sides with modern Israel.
